Campgrounds and RV parks near Mineral Ridge, OH

Mineral Ridge sits in the Mahoning Valley in northeast Ohio, between Youngstown and Warren, with Trumbull and Mahoning county parkland, several inland lakes, and interstate access all within a short drive. The area works well as an RV base for families: campgrounds are clustered along I-80, I-76, and State Route 305, and most sit within thirty minutes of the village. The closest full-service public option is Mosquito Lake State Park, an Ohio state park in Trumbull County near Cortland with 234 sites spread across several loops on the shores of one of Ohio's largest inland lakes. Private options fill in the gaps, including Western Reserve Campground, Lake Milton / Berlin Lake KOA Holiday just off I-76, Chestnut Ridge Park and Campground near Hubbard, and Chaparral Family Campground. The mix suits most trip styles: state-park camping for boaters and anglers, a KOA resort for families who want on-site pools and activities, and quieter private grounds for weekenders who prefer wooded sites and a slower pace.

Reservation systems vary by ownership. Ohio state parks use one central system: for Mosquito Lake State Park, reservations are required and may be made up to six months in advance, online through reserveohio.com or by calling (866) 644-6727. Yurts, full-service sites, and lakeview loops go first, so set a reminder for the six-month window. Private grounds each run their own booking. Lake Milton / Berlin Lake KOA takes reservations through koa.com or by phone; guests arriving after office hours should call ahead about gate access. Western Reserve Campground, Chestnut Ridge Park and Campground, and Chaparral Family Campground handle reservations directly by phone or through their own websites. For holiday weekends and any stay with a big rig requesting full hookups, book as early as the system allows.
