Campgrounds near Nevada, Ohio
Nevada is a small village in Wyandot County in north-central Ohio, sitting at the edge of farmland roughly halfway between Marion and Upper Sandusky. It lies in Antrim and Eden townships in Wyandot County, which puts RV travelers within easy reach of the Sandusky River watershed, several county parks, and short highway runs to larger recreation areas.
The closest full-service option is Foxfire Campground, an RV park with sunny and shaded campsites, full hookups, big-rig access, a heated pool, and a fishing area. Sunset Springs RV Resort sits nearby, and Tee Pee Family Campground and Walnut Grove RV Resort are both within a short drive toward Carey and the surrounding countryside. Hickory Grove Lake Campground rounds out the nearby options for travelers who want a lake-based stay.
Most parks in this pocket of Ohio are privately owned and family-run, so amenities lean toward pools, playgrounds, stocked ponds, and weekend activities rather than backcountry hiking.
Things to do near Nevada
On-site recreation at the nearby private parks is family-oriented. Foxfire Campground offers swimming, fishing, hiking trails, and lawn games, and paddle boats are available on the pond. Playgrounds, camp stores, and organized weekend events are common at Sunset Springs RV Resort, Walnut Grove RV Resort, Tee Pee Family Campground, and Hickory Grove Lake Campground.
Off-site, the location works well as a base for day trips. Cedar Point in Sandusky is a common draw for families staying in the area, and the Sandusky River corridor offers paddling and shoreline fishing. Historic Upper Sandusky, the shops in Marion, and the shrine and small-town main streets around Carey are all within a short drive for a low-key day off the campsite.

The camping season in this part of Ohio is short and predictable. Most nearby private parks open in spring and close by mid-to-late October, with a few offering limited winter stays by reservation only. Travelers should confirm exact opening and closing dates directly with each operator.
Late spring is mild and green but can be wet, with fields and rivers running high after snowmelt. Summer is the peak: warm days, active pool schedules, and full weekend calendars at family parks. July and early August bring the heaviest booking pressure, especially around the Fourth of July and any weekend near Cedar Point events.
Fall brings cooler nights, thinner crowds, and reliable color through mid-October. After the mid-October closing at most parks, RV options in Wyandot County narrow sharply, and travelers should confirm winter availability directly with the operator before booking a cold-weather trip.

How to book
Campgrounds in the Nevada area are almost entirely privately operated, so reservations run through each park rather than a single state or federal system. Foxfire Campground, Sunset Springs RV Resort, Walnut Grove RV Resort, Tee Pee Family Campground, and Hickory Grove Lake Campground each handle their own bookings by phone or through their own websites.
For summer weekends and holiday stretches, book four to eight weeks ahead. Ask about big-rig access, pull-through length, 50-amp service, and pet rules before confirming, since layouts and hookup mixes vary between the family parks in this area.
What to expect
Expect small, family-run parks rather than resort-style destinations. Sites are generally level, grass or gravel, and many are shaded by mature trees. Typical amenities include 30-amp and 50-amp service, full hookups, picnic tables, fire rings, pull-throughs, big-rig access, a camp store, playground, laundry, showers, and a swimming pool.
The surrounding landscape is flat farmland cut by county roads and small rivers, so scenery is rural rather than dramatic. Cell coverage is generally solid along the US-23 and OH-199 corridors. Bring bug spray for evenings near ponds and creeks, and plan on a short drive for full-service groceries, fuel, and restaurants, since the village of Nevada itself is compact.
