Campgrounds and RV parks near New Knoxville, OH

New Knoxville sits in Auglaize County in western Ohio, roughly midway between Grand Lake St. Marys and Lake Loramie. The village is small and residential, so most RV travelers base out of nearby state park campgrounds or private RV parks within a short drive. The surrounding landscape is flat farmland cut by canals and reservoirs left over from Ohio's 19th-century canal era, which shaped the two largest lakes in the region. Grand Lake St. Marys was originally constructed as a feeder reservoir dug by hand for the Miami and Erie Canal, and Lake Loramie was also built as a canal feeder lake, with the surrounding lands becoming Lake Loramie State Park in 1949. Both parks now anchor the local camping scene. Close-in options include Easy Campground and Glacier Hill Lakes RV Resort for private-park hookups, while Wapakoneta KOA Holiday sits near I-75 for travelers passing through. Grand Lake St Marys State Park and Lake Loramie State Park handle the bulk of longer stays and family trips.

Ohio state park campgrounds use a single reservation system. All campsites at Lake Loramie State Park may be reserved by visiting reserveohio.com or by calling 1-866-644-6727, and no walk-ins are offered. The same booking window and phone line apply at Grand Lake St Marys State Park, with sites available up to six months out. Summer weekends at both parks often fill within days of opening, so setting a calendar reminder for the six-month mark is the reliable path to lakeside sites. Private parks such as Wapakoneta KOA Holiday, Easy Campground, and Glacier Hill Lakes RV Resort handle their own bookings directly through their websites or by phone. These are often the better bet for last-minute summer trips or for travelers who need full hookups on shorter notice.
