Campgrounds and RV parks near New Madison, OH

New Madison is a small village in Darke County in southwest Ohio, roughly a 45-minute drive northwest of Dayton and close to the Indiana state line. The surrounding countryside is a mix of farmland, rolling terrain, and pockets of woods, and the area functions as a quiet base for RV travelers moving between Dayton, Richmond, Indianapolis, and Cincinnati. Most campgrounds in the area are privately owned, family-style parks rather than state or federal sites. Arrowhead Campground sits about two miles south of the village, roughly a mile off State Route 121, with full-hookup RV sites, pull-throughs, tent sites, and a cabin rental in a wooded country setting. Natural Springs Resort, just across the line near New Paris, is a larger destination park built around a spring-fed former limestone quarry with a sandy beach, cabins, and glamping options. Grandpas Farm Camp Ground, near Richmond, Indiana, and Fireside Resort & Campground round out the nearby options for shorter drives. Because the parks are private, hookup availability, seasonal loops, and reservation rules vary from one campground to the next.

Because campgrounds near New Madison are privately owned, reservations are handled by each park rather than through a central portal like Recreation.gov or the Ohio State Parks system. Natural Springs Resort takes reservations through its own website and phone line. Arrowhead Campground takes bookings directly through the campground office by phone, and Grandpas Farm Camp Ground handles reservations directly as well. Holiday weekends and summer Saturdays book out first, especially waterfront and full-hookup pull-through sites and any cabins or rental RVs. For those, aim to reserve several weeks in advance. Cancellation and refund policies vary by park; Arrowhead, for example, requires notice by the Sunday before arrival and does not refund reservations, so confirm the specific policy before paying a deposit.
