Campgrounds and RV parks near Peninsula, OH

Peninsula sits inside Cuyahoga Valley National Park, roughly halfway between Cleveland and Akron in northeast Ohio. The village is about 20 miles south of Cleveland and 15 miles north of Akron, which puts most RV renters within an easy drive of the Towpath Trail, Brandywine Falls, and the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. RV camping does not exist inside the national park itself. Cuyahoga Valley no longer offers camping within its boundaries, and overnight parking in park lots is prohibited. Renters instead base out of private RV parks in the surrounding Portage and Summit counties. The closest options ring the park. Streetsboro / Cleveland SE KOA Holiday is the primary full-hookup RV park in the area, sitting just off the Ohio Turnpike at Exit 187. Woodside Lake Park, Countryside Campground, and Cherokee Park Campground offer additional RV and tent sites within a short drive. Green Valley Nudist Camp, also nearby, is a members-oriented naturist club rather than a general-audience RV park.

Because the national park has no campground for RVs, reservations go through private operators and their own booking channels. Streetsboro / Cleveland SE KOA Holiday takes reservations directly through KOA.com and by phone. RV and tent sites require 7 days cancellation notice, while lodging and accommodations require 14 days, called into the campground by 4 p.m. before the scheduled arrival. Holiday weekends and weeks carry a longer 2-week cancellation window. Woodside Lake Park, Countryside Campground, Cherokee Park Campground, and Green Valley Nudist Camp each handle bookings on their own sites, with limited hookup sites that go fast for summer weekends. For any holiday weekend or concert night at Blossom, reserve two to three months out. Weeknight and shoulder-season stays are usually easier to secure closer in.
