Campgrounds and RV parks near Perrysville, OH

Perrysville sits in Ashland County at the edge of the Clear Fork Gorge, in the heart of Ohio's Mohican region. The village serves as a practical base for RV travelers heading to the heavily forested hills where the Clear Fork of the Mohican River carves through scenic gorges and hemlock-covered slopes, with direct access to extensive trail systems for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Loudonville, a few minutes north, supplies most of the region's canoe liveries, groceries, and fuel. Campground options range from full-hookup state park sites to private family campgrounds and riverside primitive areas. Mohican State Park anchors the destination and is the busiest option in the corridor. Mohican Adventures Campground and Cabins sits closer to the liveries and adds resort-style amenities aimed at families. The Lost Horizons Family Campground offers a quieter private alternative outside the park gates. Malabar Farm State Park, west of Perrysville, adds a working-farm day-use destination and a small campground, though most RV travelers base at Mohican and drive over for the tour.

Mohican State Park reservations are handled through the ReserveOhio system. Reservations are required and no walk-in camping is available at the main campground, campsites can be reserved up to six months in advance, and a two-night minimum stay applies for weekend reservations. Cabins may be reserved up to one year in advance of the arrival date, online or by calling (866) 644-6727. For peak summer weekends and fall color weekends, book as soon as the six-month window opens. Private options like Mohican Adventures Campground and Cabins and The Lost Horizons Family Campground take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone and often have space when the state park is full. Check rig-length limits before booking, as some loops accommodate larger Class A and Class C rentals more comfortably than others.
