The mix suits multi-generation trips where some travelers prefer sightseeing and others want lake access, hiking, and campfire time.

Ohio State Park campgrounds are booked through the ReserveOhio system at reserveohio.com or by phone at 866-644-6727. Parks that use the reservation system no longer offer walk-in campsites or self-registration, with Jesse Owens State Park the only current exception. Private parks near Pleasant Run, including Cincinnati Campsites, Hidden Valley RV Park and Storage, Tuckers Landing RV Park, Indian Springs Campground LLP, and Off The Hook Campground, each set their own booking policies. Reserve directly through the campground for the most accurate site maps, hookup details, and cancellation terms. For summer weekends and fall-foliage stays, book as far ahead as the window allows. Cancellations do open sites closer to arrival, especially midweek.
