Campgrounds and RV parks near Sardis, OH

Sardis sits along the Ohio River in Monroe County, in southeastern Ohio's Appalachian foothills. The community is an unincorporated census-designated place in Lee Township, a rural stretch of the state where campgrounds cluster around small lakes, state parks, and river overlooks rather than a single marquee destination. RV travelers use Sardis as a base for the Ohio River corridor and the ridges that separate it from the North Fork of the Hughes River across the state line in West Virginia. The nearest options range from small private properties to full-service state parks. Sparkman Lake and Lone Pine Campground offer low-key local stays in the Monroe County hills. For larger public campgrounds, Barkcamp State Park sits in Ohio's Appalachian Plateau region around 117-acre Belmont Lake and offers 150 electrified campsites across sunny and shaded loops, with 15 full-service sites that add water and sewer hookups. Across the river, Grand Vue Park overlooks the Ohio Valley from a ridgetop above Moundsville, and River Run - North Bend State Park sits on the North Fork of the Hughes River with boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, and picnicking on site.

Ohio state park sites use a single system. Reservations at Barkcamp State Park are accepted through reserveohio.com. Sites at Barkcamp are back-in only, so RV travelers should note rig length at booking. Each site features a fire ring, picnic table, and 10-foot-wide cement pad, with some sites accommodating rigs up to 80 feet in length. West Virginia state parks book directly through the state park system. Campsites at North Bend may be reserved anytime online, by phone, or at the campground office, and reservations require no less than two consecutive nights on weekends (Friday and Saturday) or one night Sunday through Thursday. There is a 14-night maximum stay. Grand Vue Park handles bookings through its own website and office. Sparkman Lake and Lone Pine Campground typically book direct by phone; call ahead to confirm hook-up availability.
