Campgrounds and RV parks near Shawnee Hills, OH

Shawnee Hills is a census-designated place in southeastern Greene County, Ohio, built around a 250-acre reservoir on Caesar Creek, a tributary of the Little Miami River. The community sits about 8 miles southeast of Xenia and roughly 25 miles east of Dayton, placing RV travelers within reach of the Little Miami State and National Scenic River corridor, Yellow Springs, and several state parks in Greene and Warren counties. Caesar Creek State Park lies to the southwest near Waynesville and Wilmington and is the largest public campground in the area, built around a 2,830-acre reservoir managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. John Bryan State Park Campground sits along the Little Miami River just outside Yellow Springs. Sky Lake RV Resort, Sky Lake RV Resort and Campground, and Frontier Campground round out the private options for travelers who want full hookups or longer stays. Most public campgrounds here reserve through ReserveOhio, while private operators book directly. Expect a mix of wooded state-park loops with electric service and private resorts with full hookups.

Ohio state park campgrounds, including John Bryan State Park Campground and Caesar Creek State Park, are reserved through the ReserveOhio system at reserveohio.com or by calling 866-644-6727. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance, and popular electric or full-hookup sites for summer weekends should be booked as early as that window opens. Caesar Creek requires reservations, with no self-registration on site. If the camp store is open, staff can sell any available sites in person. John Bryan has a limited number of electric sites and those loops book out fastest. Sky Lake RV Resort, Sky Lake RV Resort and Campground, and Frontier Campground are private operators and should be booked directly through their websites or by phone. Confirm rig-length limits and hookup type at time of booking.
