Southwest Ohio has four distinct seasons. Cincinnati experiences a humid continental climate, marked by warm summers and cold winters, creating a strong seasonal contrast. Late spring through early fall is the primary RV window, with the warmest temperatures for lake activities, swimming, and picnicking in the park. Summer weekends and holidays draw the heaviest demand at state park campgrounds, so booking well ahead is important. Rainfall is fairly wet and spread relatively evenly throughout the year, with a modest peak in spring. Spring is the wettest stretch, with regular thunderstorms that can leave sites muddy. Fall brings cooler nights, lower humidity, and foliage color across the hill country. Winter camping is possible at some private parks and at East Fork, which stays open year-round, though snow, freezing rain, and cold nights are common from December through February.
