Campgrounds and RV parks near Timberlake, OH

Timberlake is a small Lake Erie village in Lake County, Ohio, sitting between Mentor and Eastlake about 20 miles northeast of downtown Cleveland. RV travelers use it as a launch point for the Lake Erie shoreline, the Grand River Valley, and the Chagrin and Cuyahoga watersheds to the south. The village itself has no public campground, so travelers stage at private parks and Ohio state park campgrounds within a 30 to 60 minute drive. The closest options range from compact community sites like Maywood Community to full-service RV resorts. Punderson State Park Campground, run by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources in Newbury, offers a 201-site campground south in Geauga County, within easy reach of Cleveland and Akron. Private choices include Roundup Lake RV Park, Hidden Lakes Family Campground, and the Thompson / Grand River Valley KOA Holiday, located near Lake Erie, Madison, and Geneva-on-the-Lake. Most sites offer electric hookups, with full hookups available at the KOA and two full hookup sites at Punderson that also include water and sewer service. Reservations at Ohio state parks run through the state's reservation system; private parks book direct.

For Ohio state park sites at Punderson, reserve through the state's Reserve Ohio system. Reservations are required for all sites and may be made up to six months in advance online or by calling (866) 644-6727. Summer weekends and holidays release quickly, so set a reminder for the six-month window if planning July or August dates. Private parks including Roundup Lake RV Park, Hidden Lakes Family Campground, Maywood Community, and the Thompson / Grand River Valley KOA Holiday take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Confirm site length, amp service, and slide-out clearance when booking a rental RV, especially at wooded state park loops where sites vary in size.
