Campgrounds and RV parks near Trotwood, OH

Trotwood sits on the northwest edge of the Dayton metro area in Montgomery County, roughly ten minutes from downtown Dayton and within easy reach of I-70 and I-75. That location makes it a practical base for RV travelers exploring the Miami Valley, with Sycamore State Park inside the city limits along Wolf Creek and the wider Five Rivers MetroParks system radiating out into the surrounding townships. Campground options in the immediate area lean toward small private parks and farm-stay sites rather than large resorts. Oak & Ember Farms, a farm-stay property just outside Trotwood, and Rye Camp are two of the closest options, while Green Valley RV Park serves travelers looking for full hookups closer to central Dayton. For RV renters who want traditional campground amenities, Dayton KOA Holiday sits west of the city near Brookville, and Off The Hook Campground rounds out the nearby private options. Sycamore State Park itself only offers group and horseman's camping rather than individual RV sites, so private campgrounds handle most overnight RV stays in the area.

Ohio State Park camping is booked through reserveohio.com or the ReserveOhio call center at 866-644-6727. The window opens six months before the arrival date for campsites and unique getaways, and twelve months out for cabins and day-use facilities. Sycamore State Park itself only offers group camping by reservation and a small first-come, first-served horseman's camp, so most RV travelers book private parks nearby instead. Dayton KOA Holiday, Oak & Ember Farms, Rye Camp, Green Valley RV Park, and Off The Hook Campground each handle bookings through their own websites or third-party platforms. Summer holiday weekends fill first, so booking two to three months out is a reasonable target, with earlier booking recommended for full-hookup pull-through sites that fit larger rental rigs.
