Campgrounds and RV parks near Versailles, OH

Water is the biggest draw. Summer visitors enjoy the swimming beach, boating, and fishing on the 845-acre Lake Loramie, and over 8 miles of hiking trails wind through the park, with portions following the historic canal towpath as part of both the Buckeye Trail and the North Country Trail. The lake yields crappie, bluegill, channel catfish, bullheads, carp, and largemouth bass, and an 18-hole disc golf course adds more recreation in the park. On-site amenities at private parks add variety for kids. Rossburg Acres offers a sandy beach with a gaga pit, sand volleyball, a tiki shelter, a dedicated play area with play sets, sandbox, and basketball court, plus a 9-hole putt-putt course, pickleball, and frisbee golf. Off-site, families can visit Eldora Speedway and The Winery at Versailles.

The main camping window runs spring through fall. Rossburg Acres operates from early spring through late fall, with the full activity calendar kicking in around Memorial Day weekend and extending through Labor Day, and the campground is reservations-only, so guests arrive to a guaranteed spot rather than circling the grounds on a busy summer evening. Summer weekends and holidays book out earliest, so plan several weeks ahead for July and August stays. Lake Loramie State Park is open year-round, and all sites require advance reservations through reserveohio.com with no walk-ins. In winter, the park offers ice fishing, sledding, and snowmobiling when conditions allow, though most private parks in the area shut down between late October and April. One warm-weather caution: blue-green algae has been documented in Lake Loramie during warmer months, with posted warnings advising against contact, so families planning to swim should check the current advisory before arrival.

Expect flat, rural driving with quiet county roads. Road access to Lake Loramie from the east involves narrow routes with frequent stop signs, so larger rigs should account for that in route planning. From I-75, take Exit 102 for State Route 119 toward Anna/Botkins, head west on SR-119 for about 5 miles, then turn north onto State Route 362; the park entrance is approximately 2 miles ahead on the left. Site types vary. The state park offers full-hookup sites with water, sewer, and electric, electric-only sites, non-electric tent sites, and ADA-compliant cedar cabins. Temporary RV sites at Rossburg Acres arrive with 30-amp or 50-amp electric service, water, a picnic table, and a fire ring. Note that at state park sites, a maximum of two vehicles per site applies, and boat trailers, golf carts, side-by-sides, and campers all count as vehicles and must have a car pass.
