Campgrounds and RV parks near Waite Hill, OH

Waite Hill is a small village in Lake County in northeast Ohio, roughly a half-hour drive east of Cleveland. The surrounding countryside is a mix of Western Reserve farmland, wooded ravines, and the northern edge of Ohio's snowbelt, which shapes both the campground calendar and the kinds of trips travelers plan here. The closest developed RV options sit south and east of the village in Geauga and Portage counties. Punderson State Park is a 741-acre park with a 150-acre natural lake, family cottages, a golf course, and a scenic campground in Newbury Township. Private resorts along the Aurora and Mantua corridor round out the picture, including Roundup Lake RV Park in Mantua, which offers hundreds of camping sites, and Woodside Lake Park, a wooded campground on the edge of Streetsboro and Mantua that draws families from Cleveland, Akron, and beyond. Hidden Lakes Family Campground and the smaller Maywood Community fill out the nearby options, giving RV renters a range of choices from full-hookup resorts to quieter state-park loops within a short drive of Waite Hill.

State-park sites use the ReserveOhio system. Reservations at Punderson are required for all sites and may be made up to six months in advance online or by calling (866) 644-6727. Popular summer weekends often sell out the day the booking window opens, so travelers targeting July and August should mark the six-month date and book at opening. Private campgrounds each run their own reservation systems, usually through their websites or by phone. Roundup Lake RV Park, Woodside Lake Park, Hidden Lakes Family Campground, and Maywood Community all take direct bookings; holiday weekends and themed events fill first. For last-minute trips, cancellation-scanning services can surface openings at state parks, and weekday arrivals almost always improve availability across the region.
