Campgrounds near West Logan, Ohio
West Logan sits at the northern edge of Ohio's Hocking Hills region in Hocking County, minutes from the caves, waterfalls, and hemlock gorges that draw campers from across the Midwest. The town is a practical staging point for RV travelers: US Route 33 runs just north, and State Route 664 leads south to the main hiking corridors and the Hocking Hills State Park campground.
RV options in the area range from full-hookup private resorts to state-park sites with paved pads. Campbell Cove RV Resort & Campground and Campbell Cove Camping sit close to town, while Hocking Hills River RV Park offers frontage along the Hocking River. Hilltop Resorts and Campgrounds is positioned near the SR 664 corridor south of Logan, and Hocking Hills Campground provides another private-park option within a short drive of the trailheads.
Most campers use West Logan as a base for day trips to Old Man's Cave, Ash Cave, Cedar Falls, Rock House, Conkle's Hollow, Cantwell Cliffs, and the Hemlock Bridge Trail to Whispering Cave, the seven main hiking areas of Hocking Hills State Park.
Things to do near West Logan
Hiking is the primary draw. The park has seven major hiking areas: Ash Cave, Cedar Falls, Old Man's Cave, Conkle's Hollow, Cantwell Cliffs, Rock House, and Whispering Cave. The Grandma Gatewood Trail links Old Man's Cave, Cedar Falls, and Ash Cave in a roughly six-mile point-to-point route that suits families with older kids.
Beyond hiking, visitors zipline at canopy tour operators north of town, paddle the Hocking River, and fish or swim at Lake Logan State Park. The Hocking Hills State Park Visitor Center sits near the Old Man's Cave parking area off State Route 664 and includes interpretive exhibits on the region's geology and wildlife.
Rainy-day options include the John Glenn Astronomy Park for evening programs and small shops and restaurants in downtown Logan.

The Hocking Hills region has four distinct seasons. Summer brings the highest visitation, with warm, humid days ideal for waterfall hikes and river paddling; weekends fill quickly at both state and private campgrounds. Fall is the signature season: mid-October typically peaks for color across the hemlock and hardwood canopy, and reservations for October weekends often disappear months ahead.
Spring is wet and green, with the highest waterfall flow at Cedar Falls and Old Man's Cave. May is the month with the most rainfall in Logan, with rain falling for 18.6 days and accumulating about 79 mm of precipitation. Trails can be muddy and slippery on sandstone ledges.
Winter camping is possible but limited. Hocking Hills State Park offers camping all year round with electric sites, camper cabins, group camps, and primitive sites. Some private parks in the area close or reduce services from late fall through early spring, so confirming hookups and water availability before arrival is important.

First off, let me start by saying Jared is considered by my family as a Super Host. I’ve never been camping before, and this was our first experience and he showed us everything that was need to be done with The RV. He took his time with us and he was very pleasant and he made us feel so comfortable. I really appreciate him and his wife & warm, welcome they gave us. Everything was wonderful. The weather kinda didn’t cooperate, but that is another story. We had a wonderful time the wife and I enjoying Camping life. We look forward to doing this again and if anybody ever thinks about renting a RV from this wonderful family, 5 stars + across the board we really had a wonderful time at Mohican State Park in Ohio Thank You so much for..

How to book a campsite
Hocking Hills State Park uses the Ohio State Parks reservation system. Reservations for these camp sites are required and may be made up to 6 months in advance online or by calling (866) 644-6727. Bookings go through the Ohio State Parks reservation website at reserveohio.com. Sites must be reserved ahead of time, with no walk-ins.
Private parks near West Logan, including Campbell Cove RV Resort & Campground, Campbell Cove Camping, Hocking Hills River RV Park, Hilltop Resorts and Campgrounds, and Hocking Hills Campground, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. For fall-color weekends and summer holidays, booking three to six months out is standard practice.
What to expect on arrival
Roads into the Hocking Hills are narrow, hilly, and winding once travelers leave US 33. Long fifth-wheels and Class A rigs should approach campgrounds via SR 664 rather than the smaller county roads. At the state park, each site has a paved pad and can accommodate up to a 50-foot unit.
Amenities at the state park campground are extensive. Heated showers, flush toilets, a laundry facility, a dump station, a camp store, a swimming pool for registered campers, playgrounds, a volleyball court and horseshoe pit are on site. Cell coverage is spotty in the deeper valleys, so downloading maps in advance is recommended. Firewood should be purchased locally to avoid transporting pests.

There is no special endorsement or commercial license required for personal-use RVs in the state. You'll need to be 25 or older to book on RVezy, and ID verification is handled quickly inside the platform before your trip. Visiting from outside the US? Every RV rental in West Logan booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit US-33 with real peace of mind. The protection plan helps cover physical damage to the RV during your trip, which is reassuring on the winding back roads near Conkle's Hollow and Cantwell Cliffs. Booking is low-risk because RVezy sets the cancellation policy for every reservation, not the individual host, so the rules are consistent across listings. If life happens, severe weather, a family emergency, or a change of plans, reach out to RVezy support and they'll walk you through your options, including potential refunds depending on how far out you are from your trip start date. If a host cancels on you, RVezy helps you secure a refund or rebooking credit. Lock in that fall foliage week early while the best rigs in West Logan are still available.

weather.gov/iln/I've never rented an RV before, will I be okay driving in West Logan?

Hosts are usually a quick text away if a question comes up mid-trip, and choosing delivery means you can skip driving entirely. Pro tip: ask for a smaller Class C (24 to 28 feet) for your first trip, it parks easily at every Hocking Hills attraction.
transportation.ohio.gov/What happens if something goes wrong with the RV during my trip?
