Campgrounds near Longtown, Oklahoma
Longtown sits on the eastern shore of Lake Eufaula in Pittsburg and McIntosh counties in southeastern Oklahoma. Lake Eufaula is the largest man-made lake in Oklahoma, giving RV travelers direct access to boating, fishing, and swimming from most campgrounds in the immediate area. Arrowhead State Park, also known as the Arrowhead Area at Lake Eufaula State Park, occupies a 2,200-acre peninsula on Eufaula Lake in northern Pittsburg County, a short drive from Longtown.
RV options within a short drive fall into two categories: full-service resorts on the lakeshore and public sites inside the state park. Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort and Xtreme RV Resort sit near the water in Eufaula and cater to families with kids. Little Turtle RV and Storage offers a quieter, utility-focused stop in the same area.
For a more traditional state park experience, Lakeview Circle at Arrowhead State Park provides reservable sites inside a park that also includes Turkey Flats, Echo Ridge near the marina, and a Hitching Post equestrian area, along with a marina, golf course, and hiking trails.
Things to do around Longtown
Lake Eufaula is the main draw. Crappie, catfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, stripers, sand bass, and Kentucky bass are all available in abundance and attract anglers from around the country for regular tournaments. The Area 51 Marina inside the park provides boat access, fuel, tackle, bait, boat slips, and an enclosed dock for year-round fishing. Waterskiing, wakeboarding, kayaking, and swimming are all popular through the warm months.
On land, Arrowhead State Park has two hiking trails: the Outlaw Nature Trail, a three-quarter mile trail through hilly terrain, and the Arrowhead Hiking Trail, a hilly three-mile trail recommended for advanced hikers only. The park also maintains 25 miles of equestrian trails and a full-service, 18-hole par-72 Arrowhead Golf Course with Bermuda fairways and tees and bent-grass greens.
Families staying at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort have on-site access to a floating obstacle course, a giant jumping pillow, foam parties, a swimming pool, and mini golf, plus scheduled character activities with Yogi Bear and Boo Boo.
