Campgrounds and RV parks near Dayton, OR

Dayton sits in the northern Willamette Valley between McMinnville and Newberg, surrounded by vineyards, hop fields, and the Yamhill River. The town puts RV travelers within roughly an hour of Portland and an hour of the central Oregon coast, with wine country tasting rooms minutes from most sites. Campground options are a mix of private RV resorts and Oregon State Parks properties along the Willamette River. Olde Stone Village RV Park in nearby McMinnville is the closest full-service private park, with paved sites and amenities next to the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum. Dundee Hills Resort offers RV stays inside the Dundee Hills wine appellation, while Portland-Woodburn RV Park sits just off Interstate 5 to the east for travelers moving through the corridor. For public-land camping, Champoeg State Heritage Area provides full-hookup, electric, and tent sites along the Willamette River, and the Horse Group - Willamette Mission State Park serves equestrians with corral-equipped sites. Both state parks are within easy driving distance of Dayton.

Oregon State Parks campgrounds, including Champoeg State Heritage Area and the horse camp at Willamette Mission State Park, take reservations from one day to six months in advance through the Oregon State Parks reservation system. Reservations are required for horse camp sites at Willamette Mission, and walk-ins are not allowed. The horse camp has only four corral-equipped sites, so book early for spring and summer weekends. Private parks like Olde Stone Village RV Park, Dundee Hills Resort, and Portland-Woodburn RV Park book directly through their websites or phone lines. Reserve well ahead for holiday weekends and major McMinnville events, when multi-night minimums are common.
