Campgrounds and RV parks near McMinnville, OR

McMinnville sits in Oregon's northern Willamette Valley, the county seat of Yamhill County at the base of the Oregon Coast Range, at the confluence of the North and South forks of the Yamhill River. It is roughly an hour southwest of Portland and about 43 miles from the Pacific at Lincoln City, which makes the area a practical base for RV trips that combine wine country, valley farmland, and coast day trips. The surrounding region is the heart of the well-developed Oregon wine industry in the Willamette Valley, with hundreds of wineries and vineyards, and McMinnville identifies as the capital of Oregon's wine industry. RV travellers typically stage at private parks in town such as Olde Stone Village RV Park or Valley's Edge RV Park, with Dundee Hills Resort offering a vineyard-adjacent option to the east toward Newberg. For travellers willing to drive a short distance, Premier RV Resort - Salem provides a full-hookup base near Interstate 5, and Horse Group - Willamette Mission State Park offers a public-land option along the Willamette River north of Salem.

Public sites in the area run through the Oregon State Parks system. Reservations are accepted at most state park campgrounds and can be made one day to six months in advance, with new sites coming online at 6 a.m. Pacific Time on a rolling daily basis, so setting an alarm matters for popular dates. At Willamette Mission State Park specifically, horse camp sites are available by reservation only and walk-ins are not allowed. The group tent site and horse camp must be booked through the Oregon State Parks reservation system, while the hiker/biker camp is first-come, first-served. Private RV parks such as Olde Stone Village RV Park, Valley's Edge RV Park, Dundee Hills Resort, and Premier RV Resort - Salem are booked directly through each park's own website or phone line. For summer weekends and wine-event dates, reserve private full-hookup sites several weeks to a few months out.
