Lewis and Clark Trail State Park follows a strict seasonal schedule: the campground and day-use areas operate April 1 through October 31 and are closed November 1 through March 31. Winter brings snow and ice at elevation. Park roads are often snow-covered or icy in winter at Emigrant Springs, and from October through April water may be shut down to campsites and cabins on short notice due to weather, with water turned back on in spring as conditions allow. Most valley RV parks remain accessible year-round, with sites ranging from developed full-hookup parks to more basic facilities with gravel surfaces and limited shade.
