Campgrounds near Molalla
Molalla sits in northern Clackamas County at the western edge of the Cascade foothills, about an hour south of Portland and a half hour east of Salem. The town serves as a staging point for the Molalla River Recreation Corridor, Table Rock Wilderness, and Silver Falls State Park to the south.
RV travelers have a mix of options within a short drive. Riverside RV Park and Silver Spur RV Park handle full-hookup stays close to town, while Sun Outdoors Portland South offers a larger resort-style property on the north side toward the metro area. Camp Dakota Campground in Scotts Mills covers RV sites, yurts, and tent sites on a forested property with on-site activities for families.
For a state-park base, Silver Falls State Park lies roughly 30 minutes south near Sublimity and is the anchor destination for the region. Its campground includes electrical RV sites, tent sites, and cabins, with the Trail of Ten Falls accessible directly from the park.
Things to do near Molalla
Silver Falls State Park is the headline attraction. The Trail of Ten Falls is a 7.2-mile loop along Silver Creek that passes behind several waterfalls, and the park maintains more than 35 miles of multi-use backcountry trails across 9,000 acres for hikers, equestrians, and mountain bikers.
The Molalla River Recreation Corridor, managed by the Bureau of Land Management, offers swimming holes, fishing, picnicking, and a connected trail network of more than 20 miles for hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians. The Molalla is one of the few undammed tributaries of the Willamette and cuts a scenic gorge below Table Rock Wilderness.
For on-site activity, Camp Dakota Campground runs zip lines, a ropes course, paintball, a climbing wall, archery, gold panning, and disc golf. The Oregon Garden and the towns of Silverton and Mount Angel are also within easy reach for day trips.

Summer is the prime RV window. June through early September brings warm, dry weather with daytime highs commonly in the 70s and 80s, low rainfall, and the warmest river temperatures for swimming on the Molalla. Weekends fill quickly at Silver Falls State Park, which draws over a million visitors a year and is consistently one of the harder Oregon parks to book.
Spring and fall are quieter shoulder seasons. April and May bring strong waterfall flows and wildflowers along the Trail of Ten Falls, while September and October typically deliver mild days, lower river flows, and good fishing conditions before the wet season returns.
Winter is cool and very wet across the Willamette Valley foothills, with the heaviest rainfall from November through January and the chance of ice or snow at park elevation. Silver Falls keeps electrical sites and cabins open year-round, but its tent loop is seasonal from May through October, and BLM sites in the Molalla corridor can be affected by winter access conditions. Drivers should also watch for active log-truck traffic on forest roads.

How to book
Silver Falls State Park is reserved through the Oregon State Parks system on ReserveAmerica. The booking window opens six months ahead of the arrival date, and summer weekends and cabins are commonly the first to sell out. Reservations are required for cabin stays, and only one RV is allowed per site.
BLM sites in the Molalla River Recreation Corridor, including Three Bears and Cedar Grove, are reservation-only through Recreation.gov or the Recreation.gov mobile app. Reservations must be made before entering the corridor, because there is no cell service in the drainage.
Camp Dakota Campground books year-round directly through the operator, with activity sign-ups handled in advance of arrival. Private parks such as Riverside RV Park, Silver Spur RV Park, and Sun Outdoors Portland South book directly through each property.
What to expect
Sites near Molalla range from full-hookup RV pads at private parks to walk-in tent sites in the BLM corridor. Silver Falls State Park has 48 electrical sites with water (more than 18 open year-round), 43 tent sites with water nearby that are seasonal May through October, 14 cabins, flush toilets, and hot showers. RV travelers should plan around the one-RV-per-site rule.
BLM sites along the Molalla River are walk-in, tent-oriented, and primitive: vault toilets, fire rings, picnic tables, no hookups, and no cell service. Cedar Grove has a hand pump for potable water, and Three Bears campers can fill up at Cedar Grove about a mile away.
Families traveling with kids will find the most amenities at Camp Dakota Campground and at Sun Outdoors Portland South. Pack layers for cool foothills evenings and rain gear outside high summer.

rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Molalla,OregonDo I need a special license to drive an RV rental in Molalla, Oregon?
Good news for first-time renters: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Molalla, Oregon. The Oregon DMV does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal-use RVs, even larger Class A motorhomes. To book on RVezy, approved drivers are generally required to be 25 or older, and the platform handles ID confirmation digitally before pickup. Visiting from outside the US? Bring your home-country license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) and you're set. Most guests are surprised how quickly the orientation walkthrough at pickup demystifies driving an RV.

Every RV rental in Molalla, OR booked through RVezy comes with a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance built right in, so you can hit the road to the Molalla River Recreation Area with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers most damages to the vehicle and provides meaningful financial protection while you travel. You'll choose your coverage level during checkout (not the host), so you can pick what fits your trip best. Roadside help is just a phone call away whether you're at Feyrer Park or deep in the Table Rock Wilderness gateway, so a flat tire or dead battery doesn't end your adventure.

Booking is low-risk, so don't let uncertainty hold you back. RVezy sets the cancellation policy for every rental (not individual hosts), and it includes a grace-period window where you can cancel for a full refund shortly after booking. Refund amounts after that depend on how far in advance you cancel relative to your trip start date. The full policy is laid out clearly during checkout and in the RVezy Help Center, so you know exactly where you stand before you book. Pro tip: book early to lock in summer dates around the Molalla Buckeroo and Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival, and you've got a clear safety net if plans shift.

Feyrer Park, just a few miles east of downtown Molalla, also welcomes leashed dogs along its creekside trails. Pack a tie-out, a collapsible water bowl, and a towel for muddy paws after a Molalla River swim, and confirm any pet fees with your host before booking.
stateparks.oregon.gov/index.cfm?do=park.profile&parkId=78Can the RV be delivered to me in Molalla?
Yes, RV delivery in Molalla is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-time renters. Many local hosts will drive the RV directly to your campsite at Feyrer Park, campgrounds in the BLM Molalla River Recreation Area, or even your driveway, then level it, hook up utilities, and walk you through every system. This is a game changer if you're nervous about backing a trailer down a forest road or navigating Dickey Prairie Road, which is shared with active log trucks. Filter by Delivery on RVezy, message the host with your destination, and confirm the delivery fee upfront.

stateparks.oregon.gov/index.cfm?do=parkPage.dsp_parkPage&parkId=151When is the best time of year for RV camping in Molalla?
Late June through mid-September is prime time for RV camping Molalla, with warm, dry days typically in the upper 70s to mid 80s Fahrenheit and cool 50-degree nights, perfect sleeping weather. July and August are the driest months and ideal for swimming in the Molalla River. Spring (April to early June) is gorgeous for the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival and lush green Willamette Valley scenery, though expect spring rain showers. Fall (September to mid-October) brings golden cottonwoods at Molalla River State Park and far fewer crowds. Winter is rainy and mild (40s to low 50s) but campgrounds like Feyrer Park areas stay open year-round for adventurous travelers.
weather.gov/pqr/I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay?
You're going to do great, and you won't be left to figure it out alone. First time renting an RV in Molalla is easier than most people expect because RVezy hosts typically provide a full orientation at pickup, walking you through the generator, propane, water tanks, slide-outs, leveling, and dump procedure. You can message the host before booking with any question, and 24/7 roadside assistance has your back on the road. Start with a shorter trip to Feyrer Park or Milo McIver State Park (both under 35 minutes from town) to build confidence before tackling Mount Hood or the coast. Pro tip: ask your host if you can record a quick walkthrough video on your phone for reference later.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/categories/360002007893-For-RentersWhat happens if something breaks down during my trip?
Take a breath, you're covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so whether you're at a remote campground with no cell service or pulled over on OR-211, help is one phone call away. The roadside team can assist with flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, towing, and mechanical issues. Your host is also typically a quick text away for questions about RV-specific quirks. Heads up: cell service drops out in the Molalla River Corridor past Dickey Prairie, so write down the RVezy support number and your host's number on paper before heading in.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Molalla RV rental into Washington or California?
Yes, most RV rental Oregon hosts allow interstate travel, making Molalla an excellent launchpad for a bigger RV road trip from Molalla. Popular runs include north into Washington for Mount St. Helens (about 2.5 hours) or Olympic National Park (about 4.5 hours), and south into California's Redwood National Park (about 5.5 hours). Cross-border travel into Canada may be allowed depending on the host and protection coverage, so message the host and confirm before booking. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because protection coverage does not extend there. Always share your full itinerary with your host upfront so mileage and route details are squared away.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityHow much should I budget for fuel on a Molalla RV trip?
Fuel is a manageable part of the budget. Class B campervan rental Molalla travelers can typically expect 18 to 22 miles per gallon (mpg), Class C motorhomes get 8 to 12 mpg, and Class A motorhomes 6 to 10 mpg. Towable travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle, usually 10 to 14 mpg combined. Oregon gas prices fluctuate but generally sit in the high $3 to mid $4 per gallon range, with cheaper stations along I-5 in Woodburn (about 20 minutes west) than in town. A weekend round trip to Mount Hood (about 130 miles) in a Class C runs roughly $50 to $70 in fuel. Oregon perk: many stations still offer full-service pumping in rural areas.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Molalla?
Book sooner than you think, especially for summer. Oregon State Parks like Silver Falls and Milo McIver open reservations up to 6 months in advance through the Oregon State Parks reservation system, and prime July and August weekends fill quickly. BLM and federal sites typically book through Recreation.gov, also up to 6 months out. For shoulder-season trips (May, late September), 2 to 4 weeks is usually enough. Pro tip: if you're flexible, midweek availability at Feyrer Park (Clackamas County Parks) and the BLM corridor often stays open even on short notice, and the Molalla River swim holes are blissfully quieter Monday through Thursday.
stateparks.oregon.gov/index.cfm?do=v.page&id=78What are local driving conditions like around Molalla?
Driving an RV around Molalla is refreshingly low-stress compared to big-city routes. OR-211 (Main Street) and OR-213 are the main arteries, both two-lane rural highways with gentle grades and good shoulders. Heading east toward the Molalla River Recreation Area, watch for active log trucks on Dickey Prairie Road and Molalla Forest Road, they have the right-of-way and use pullouts when you see one. Winter can bring fog and occasional ice at higher elevations toward Table Rock, so check TripCheck (Oregon DOT's real-time road conditions site) before heading out. Avoid the narrow Canby Ferry crossing with larger rigs, take the OR-99E bridge through Canby instead.
tripcheck.com/What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Molalla?
Local campgrounds offer a great mix of comfort and nature. Milo McIver State Park has hot showers, a dump station, electric and water hookups, flush toilets, and an amphitheater. Silver Falls State Park provides full hookups at many sites plus showers and firewood sales. Feyrer Park offers electric hookups, drinking water, restrooms, and a playground. The more rustic BLM campgrounds in the Molalla River Recreation Area have vault toilets and fire rings but no hookups or potable water (bring your own). For dump stations and fresh water fills between trips, Clackamette RV Park in Oregon City (about 25 minutes north) is a reliable nearby option. Always pack a 25-foot fresh-water hose and a sewer hose extension just in case.
stateparks.oregon.gov/index.cfm?do=parkPage.dsp_parkPage&parkId=151What's actually inside a typical Molalla RV rental?
You'll be impressed by how dialed-in these rigs are. A typical motorhome rental Molalla guests book includes a queen or king bed, convertible dinette, full kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, sink), bathroom with shower and toilet, roof air conditioning, propane furnace, and seatbelted seating for 4 to 7. Most Class C motorhomes and travel trailers include a TV, and many hosts offer mobile Wi-Fi hotspots as an add-on, super handy since cell coverage drops in the Molalla River Corridor. Onboard generators are common on Class A and C models for boondocking power. Each RVezy listing's amenity list spells out exactly what's included so there are no surprises at pickup.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Molalla,OregonWhat add-ons can I get with my RV rental in Molalla, OR?
Hosts offer a great menu of extras to customize your trip. Popular add-ons for RV rental in Molalla, OR include linen and bedding packages, kitchen kits with pots, plates, and utensils, camp chairs and outdoor tables, portable generators, Wi-Fi hotspots, bike racks, propane fire pits (handy since the BLM corridor often has fire restrictions in summer), and pet cleaning fees. Pickup and drop-off are typically at the host's location in or near Molalla, but delivery to Feyrer Park, Milo McIver, or your driveway is widely available. Mileage policies vary by listing, so check the daily allotment and per-mile overage before you book.
oregon.gov/odf/fire/pages/restrictions.aspxHow do payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is straightforward and secure. When you book an RV rental in Molalla, OR, you pay through the RVezy platform with a credit or debit card, never directly to the host. A security deposit is held separately from your booking payment shortly before your trip starts and released after return, assuming no damage or policy violations. To avoid issues, do a thorough walkaround with your host at pickup and drop-off, snap photos of any existing dings, keep the tanks at the levels the host specifies, and return the RV with the agreed fuel level. Pro tip: in-app messaging keeps a written record of everything, use it for any pickup or return notes.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksAre RV rentals available in Molalla during winter?
Yes, winter RV adventures are very much on the table. Many Molalla hosts keep their rigs available November through March, and Milo McIver and Silver Falls State Park areas remain open for camping in winter. Look for listings that mention four-season insulation, heated holding tanks, and a working propane furnace, these handle the Willamette Valley's wet 35 to 50 degree winters without any drama. Hooking up to shore power at a developed campground keeps the furnace running efficiently all night. Bonus: winter rates are often 20 to 30 percent lower than summer, the waterfalls at Silver Falls are stunning in the mist, and you'll have many of the trails to yourself.
