The Trail of Ten Falls at Silver Falls State Park is the regional anchor. The 7.2-mile loop passes a series of waterfalls along a forested canyon, including the 177-foot South Falls, which hikers can walk behind. Shorter spur trails and a dedicated bike path make it workable for families with mixed ability levels. The North Santiam River draws anglers for steelhead, with shore access and a primitive boat launch at North Santiam Park. Picnic shelters, river access, and short forest trails round out the day-use options, though parts of the park have limited shade following the 2020 wildfires. North Santiam Park campsites are available April through October, and the seasonal tent loop at Silver Falls runs roughly May through October.

Silver Falls' main campground sits along South Fork Silver Creek with paved pads, picnic tables, fire rings, flush toilets, and hot showers. The park has 48 electrical sites with water, 43 tent sites with water nearby (seasonal May to October), and 14 cabins open year-round. A per-use dump station fee applies, paid by scanning a QR code at the station. North Santiam Park is primitive, with riverfront sites, flush-toilet restrooms, drinking fountains, and a primitive boat launch. It is not well suited to large RVs, though the day-use area and group picnic shelter make it a practical stop along Highway 22. Camp Dakota in Scotts Mills runs about 50 sites across 45 forested acres with RV hookups, yurts, tee pees, cabin tents, tent sites, hot showers, and a small store.
