Campgrounds near Warren, Oregon
Warren sits in Columbia County along the Multnomah Channel, about 25 miles northwest of Portland and a short drive from St. Helens and Scappoose. The area gives RV travelers easy access to the Columbia River, Sauvie Island farmland, and the lower Columbia estuary, with most campgrounds clustered within a 15-minute radius of town.
Bayport RV Park and Campground, managed by the Port of Columbia County, sits in Warren adjacent to the Scappoose Bay Marine Park and is the closest option to town. South across the channel, Island Cove RV Park and Reeder Beach RV Park and Country Store occupy quieter stretches of Sauvie Island, with Columbia River frontage. Columbia Riverfront RV Park lies just across the river in Woodland, Washington, about 22 miles north of Portland, and is a common large-rig choice for travelers using I-5.
Sand Island Campground is a different experience entirely. The site sits on a 31.7-acre island in the Columbia River off downtown St. Helens, reached by a free boat shuttle from the St. Helens Marina, so it is tent-oriented rather than an RV park.
Things to do near Warren
The Multnomah Channel and lower Columbia are the main draw. Scappoose Bay, adjacent to Bayport RV Park and Campground, puts kayakers and anglers on flatwater within minutes, and the on-site Next Adventure Scappoose Bay Paddling Center rents kayaks and stand-up paddleboards and runs guided wetland tours.
Sauvie Island, reached by bridge from Highway 30, is a working agricultural island with u-pick farms, farm stands, wildlife refuge land, and public beaches on the Columbia. Birdwatching is strong in the wildlife area, particularly during fall and winter waterfowl migration.
Downtown St. Helens, a short drive north, has a historic riverfront district with shops, restaurants, and the historic Columbia Theater. The town is widely known for its Spirit of Halloweentown festival each October, which fills lodging well in advance.

The Warren area follows a classic Pacific Northwest pattern: cool, very wet winters and warm, dry summers. Roughly half of the annual rainfall falls between November and February, and overcast days dominate the cool months. Bayport RV Park and Campground stays open year-round, but shoulder-season travel means soggy ground, limited daylight, and slower service at country stores and marinas.
Late June through early September is peak season. Daytime highs are usually in the upper 70s to low 80s with very little rain, and weekend sites along the Columbia book up well ahead. Sand Island Campground is seasonal: the City of St. Helens operates it from March through October, and it is not accessible by road in any season.
Spring brings wildflowers and rising rivers as snowmelt moves down the Columbia, which can affect beach access at low-elevation sites. Fall is mild and quieter, with strong waterfowl viewing on Sauvie Island and the Halloweentown crowds in St. Helens through October.

Torrey is responsive, super helpful, and the RV was clean and in great shape all around five stars.

Took the trailer out for a long holiday weekend. Torrey and Nick were super nice and helpful. We called with a few questions and they were helpful and got us up and running. Highly recommend!

Great set up. We ended up not using some of the add ons as we got cleared out early due to smoke/fires and were reimbursed appropriately. Very professional communications. Nice for a small family of 4 for the weekend or more. 8 YO boy enjoyed it too: “dad do you think you could quit work and we could just drive around in this van for the rest of the year?”

Thanks Radek and Anna for the amazing experience!

How to book
Reservation systems vary by operator. Bayport RV Park and Campground is run by the Port of Columbia County and books directly through the port, with a small number of first-come spaces and a 14-day per-stay maximum. Columbia Riverfront RV Park takes reservations directly by phone with its office and has firm rules: RVs must be fully self-contained and display the RVIA Certification Seal, generally less than ten years old, and tents are not permitted in the park.
Sand Island Campground books online through Campspot or by phone with the camp host, who can also accept day-of walk-ups when sites are open. Plan around the shuttle: campers unload gear at the St. Helens Marina launching ramp and ride the boat over.
For peak summer weekends and the October Halloweentown stretch, reserve several weeks ahead. Cancellation windows typically run 72 hours, with stricter terms on holiday bookings.
What to expect
Sites along the Multnomah Channel and Columbia River are flat, mostly gravel, and oriented toward ship and barge watching. Reeder Beach RV Park and Country Store, Island Cove RV Park, and Columbia Riverfront RV Park all offer full hookups, though amperage and site length vary; Columbia Riverfront RV Park is large-rig friendly up to 45 feet with many pull-throughs up to 85 feet. Bayport RV Park and Campground has water and electric with 30 and 50 amp service and an on-site dump station rather than sewer hookups at each site.
Services are basic in the immediate Warren area. Groceries, fuel, and propane are easiest to find in St. Helens or Scappoose. Cell coverage is generally usable along the river corridor. Expect ship noise day and night at riverside parks, and mosquitoes near wetlands in early summer.
