Things to do near Yamhill
Wine touring is the headline activity. The McMinnville AVA and the broader Willamette Valley AVA hold hundreds of wineries and tasting rooms, with the densest concentration in the hills around Dundee, Carlton, and McMinnville. Dundee Hills Resort has an on-site Archer Vineyards tasting room for guests who prefer to stay put.
Families tend to mix wine country with the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum, home of the Spruce Goose, which is walkable from Olde Stone Village RV Park and includes the Wings and Waves Water Park next door.
For outdoor recreation, Willamette Mission State Park has roughly 15 miles of trails through woodland, wetland, and farmland, a disc golf course, river access at the Wheatland Ferry, and the nation's largest black cottonwood. The Tillamook State Forest, west of Yamhill, holds more than 250 miles of trails open to motorcycles, quads, 4WDs, and side-by-sides.

The Willamette Valley has a Mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers and cool, very wet winters. July and August are the driest months and the busiest for wine country, with afternoon highs typically in the upper 70s to low 80s Fahrenheit and cool nights. Reservations at private RV parks around McMinnville and Dundee fill well in advance for harvest weekends and summer holidays.
Spring brings vineyard bud break, longer days, and steadily declining rainfall, but Willamette Mission State Park trails can flood during heavy storms into spring. The state park's reservable facilities, including the horse camp and group sites, are closed October 1 through May 14.
Fall is harvest season in the wine country and tends to stay mild into October. Browns Camp in the Tillamook State Forest operates April 1 through October 31, with peak OHV use overlapping the dry months. Winters are mild but persistently wet, with fog common in the valley and most public campgrounds in the area closed.

Great set up. We ended up not using some of the add ons as we got cleared out early due to smoke/fires and were reimbursed appropriately. Very professional communications. Nice for a small family of 4 for the weekend or more. 8 YO boy enjoyed it too: “dad do you think you could quit work and we could just drive around in this van for the rest of the year?”

Thanks Radek and Anna for the amazing experience!

How to book
Private RV parks near Yamhill are booked directly with the property. Olde Stone Village RV Park takes online reservations through its own site, with multi-night minimums common during major McMinnville events such as the air show, the Food and Wine Classic, and summer holiday weekends. Dundee Hills Resort takes online bookings for its pull-through sites, back-in sites, cottages, and Airstream rentals.
Public sites use the Oregon State Parks system on ReserveAmerica. The Horse Group at Willamette Mission State Park requires a reservation, walk-ins are not allowed, and the camping facilities operate May 15 through September 30.
Browns OHV Camp in the Tillamook State Forest has transitioned to a reservation-only system through ReserveAmerica. Sites can be reserved up to six months in advance, same-day bookings are allowed but not recommended due to spotty cell service, and every camper must bring at least one OHV with a valid ATV Operating Permit sticker.
What to expect on the ground
Private resorts in the area lean upscale and big-rig friendly. Olde Stone Village RV Park has level concrete pads, full hookups, a heated pool, clubhouse, laundry, showers, and Wi-Fi, with the Evergreen museum walkable through an adjacent vineyard path. Dundee Hills Resort offers 38 pull-through and 16 back-in sites with full hookups, plus a clubhouse, laundry, showers, and Wi-Fi.
Public sites are more rustic. The horse camp at Willamette Mission State Park has four sites with four-stall corrals, fire rings, picnic tables, and vault and flush restrooms, but no showers, and trails near the river can flood in heavy rain. Mosquitoes are active near the water at dusk.
Browns Camp is OHV-only and primitive, with 28 drive-in sites, vault toilets, hand-pump drinking water, picnic tables, fire grates, and spotty cell service. Fire restrictions can limit riding during high fire danger.
