Campgrounds and RV parks near Nemacolin, PA

Nemacolin sits in Fayette County in the Laurel Highlands of southwestern Pennsylvania, roughly a 75-minute drive from Pittsburgh. The area is anchored by Ohiopyle State Park, which covers approximately 20,500 acres and serves as the gateway to the Laurel Highlands, and by the Youghiogheny River gorge that cuts through it. RV travelers use the area as a base for whitewater, waterfalls, rail-trail biking, and Frank Lloyd Wright house tours. Campground options range from full-hookup private parks to state-park sites with modest utilities. Private options nearby include Firehouse RV Campgrounds, Sand Springs Campground, Indian Meadows Campground, The Blue Canoe RV Resort, and Benner's Meadow Run Camping and Cabins. Inside Ohiopyle State Park, Kentuck Campground handles most in-park RV and tent stays. Private parks in the Laurel Highlands generally offer electric, water, and sewer at a higher share of sites than state facilities, which matters for shoulder-season RV trips when Kentuck is closed. Confirm hookup availability directly with each operator before booking.

Sites at Kentuck Campground in Ohiopyle State Park are booked through the Pennsylvania State Parks reservation system on ReserveAmerica. Campsite reservations open up to 11 months in advance, and Pennsylvania releases new inventory at noon Eastern Time, which is unusual among state park systems. Reservations must be made at least three days ahead of arrival. Summer weekends at Kentuck often sell out shortly after the 11-month window opens. Private parks near Nemacolin, including Firehouse RV Campgrounds, Sand Springs Campground, Indian Meadows Campground, The Blue Canoe RV Resort, and Benner's Meadow Run Camping and Cabins, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. For holiday weekends, book several months out; midweek stays in spring or fall usually take much shorter lead times.
