Campgrounds and RV parks near Unionville, PA

Unionville is a small census-designated place in Center Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, located roughly six miles north of the city of Butler along Pennsylvania Route 8. The community sits in the rolling hills of western Pennsylvania at about 1,283 feet of elevation, within easy driving distance of Pittsburgh to the south. The area is a practical base for RV travelers heading to Moraine State Park, a 16,725-acre park built around 3,225-acre Lake Arthur. Traditional tent and RV camping is not offered inside Moraine State Park itself, so trips in this region rely on private campgrounds in the surrounding countryside. Options within a short drive of Unionville include Buttercup Woodlands Campground in Renfrew, Bear Run Campground and Coopers Lake Campground near Portersville and Slippery Rock, Peaceful Valley Campground in West Sunbury, and Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort: Kozy Rest. Most of these parks pair full-hookup RV sites with cabins, tent areas, pools, and family programming, making the Unionville area a straightforward pick for a summer or shoulder-season trip in western Pennsylvania.

Cabin and organized group tenting reservations inside Moraine State Park are booked through the Pennsylvania State Parks system on ReserveAmerica, online or by calling 888-PA-PARKS (888-727-2757). Reservations open 11 months in advance, and cabins require a minimum stay. Dogs are only permitted in designated pet-friendly cabins for an additional fee. Private campgrounds around Unionville, including Bear Run Campground, Buttercup Woodlands Campground, Peaceful Valley Campground, and Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort: Kozy Rest, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Summer weekends and holidays fill early, so booking several weeks or months ahead is recommended. Coopers Lake Campground operates primarily as an event venue, and stays there are generally tied to scheduled events rather than open nightly bookings.
