Campgrounds near Belton, South Carolina
Belton sits in Anderson County in the Upstate region of South Carolina, about ten miles southeast of Anderson and roughly a half-hour drive from Lake Hartwell, a reservoir of nearly 56,000 acres with 962 miles of shoreline on the Georgia border. That location makes it a practical base for RV renters who want a small-town setting with easy access to a major recreation lake, Clemson University, and the foothills of the Blue Ridge.
RV options in the immediate area lean toward small, family-run parks. Eden Farm RV Park, Ivy Acres RV Park, and Springwood RV Park cluster close to Belton itself and cater to longer stays and full-hookup travelers. Toward Lake Hartwell, Tiger Cove Campground and The Shores of Asbury put renters within minutes of boat ramps and open water.
Beyond the private parks, the surrounding area is heavily shaped by public land. The Corps of Engineers operates 9 campgrounds, 15 major day-use areas, and numerous other lake-access points around Hartwell, and South Carolina State Parks add further options a short drive from Belton.
Things to do near Belton
Lake Hartwell is the dominant draw. Renters staying at Tiger Cove Campground or The Shores of Asbury are minutes from boat ramps, and the lake supports swimming, striped-bass and black-bass fishing, paddling, and shoreline hiking as standard summer activities.
In town, Belton itself is compact and walkable. The Belton Standpipe, a 155-foot concrete water tower completed in 1909 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, anchors the town square, along with the historic Belton Depot, the Belton Area Museum, and the South Carolina Tennis Hall of Fame.
Day trips are easy. Anderson has shopping and restaurants, Clemson is about a half-hour north, and the Anderson Jockey Lot flea market runs weekends on Highway 29.

How to book campgrounds near Belton
Corps of Engineers campgrounds around Lake Hartwell are booked through the federal reservation system at recreation.gov or by phone at 1-877-444-6777. Sites open on a rolling six-month window, so summer weekends and holidays should be booked as early as possible on that release date.

Private parks near Belton, including Eden Farm RV Park, Ivy Acres RV Park, Springwood RV Park, Tiger Cove Campground, and The Shores of Asbury, book directly through the campground. Campgrounds generally provide electric and water hookups, and many lakefront sites at Corps facilities sit directly on the shoreline with views and water access. Fifty-amp service is standard at most private parks.
Amenities vary. Facilities typically include restrooms and a dump station, though not every campground offers showers or full sewer hookups. Larger rigs are usually accommodated on the lake, with level pads at many Corps sites.
Cell coverage is generally usable near Belton and along main highways but can drop in wooded coves around Hartwell. Bring insect repellent, a lake map, and expect quiet-hour enforcement at Corps sites.

Good news: for nearly every RV rental in Belton, SC, your regular Class D driver's license is all you need. South Carolina only requires a Class E or Class F non-commercial license if the RV's gross vehicle weight exceeds 26,000 pounds, which applies to a small handful of very large Class A motorhomes. The travel trailers, campervans, and Class C motorhomes that make up the majority of RVezy listings around Belton fall well under that threshold. You'll need to be 25 or older with a valid license, and RVezy verifies your ID securely through the booking platform. Visiting from abroad? Grab an International Driving Permit (IDP) before your trip and you're set.

Every RVezy booking in Belton automatically includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can head toward Lake Hartwell or the Blue Ridge foothills with confidence. You choose your preferred protection tier during checkout (this is set by RVezy, not the host), and each plan covers most damage to the RV during your trip. If you get a flat on I-85 or a dead battery at Sadlers Creek State Park, one call gets help dispatched. It's not traditional auto insurance, but it provides real peace of mind, especially for first-time renters. Pick your protection level at booking and you're ready to roll.
