Campgrounds and RV parks near City View, SC

Paris Mountain State Park is the main outdoor draw, with hiking loops, a swimming lake, and paddle rentals in season. The Swamp Rabbit Trail, a paved rail-trail linking Greenville to Travelers Rest, is well suited to family cycling and connects to breweries, cafes, and Furman University along its route. Downtown Greenville sits minutes from City View and includes Falls Park on the Reedy, the Liberty Bridge, and a walkable Main Street. Day trips reach further into the Blue Ridge: Caesars Head State Park, Jones Gap State Park, and Table Rock State Park lie within an hour and offer waterfalls and long-range overlooks. Rainy-day options include the Greenville Zoo, the Upcountry History Museum, and the Bob Jones University Museum & Gallery.

Spring and fall are the strongest windows for RV travel in the City View area. From March through May, daytime highs climb from the 60s into the upper 70s Fahrenheit, wildflowers appear along the Blue Ridge foothills, and campground demand builds steadily through the season. Fall brings cooler nights, lower humidity, and leaf color that peaks in late October at higher elevations north of the city. Summer is hot and humid. July normals at the nearby Greenville-Spartanburg station show daily highs near 90°F with lows in the upper 60s, and afternoon thunderstorms are common. Lakeside sites at Paris Mountain State Park book out early for weekends and holidays. Winters are cool but generally mild by RV standards. January averages a high near 53°F and a low around 32°F at GSP, and freezing temperatures can occur from November into April. Overnight lows usually stay in the 20s Fahrenheit and days almost always thaw. Some private parks reduce services in the coldest weeks, and freeze protection on water lines is worth planning for.

The Upstate landscape near City View is rolling and wooded, with elevation rising quickly to the north into the Blue Ridge. Expect tree cover at Paris Mountain State Park, which limits big-rig maneuvering on some interior loops; check site length and hookup type before booking a longer motorhome or fifth wheel. Private parks closer to Greenville tend to offer level, full-hookup sites geared to travelers passing through on I-85 or staying while visiting the city. Cell coverage is strong across the metro and along the main highways but can weaken in the wooded state park sections. Summer thunderstorms can drop heavy rain in short bursts, and creek crossings in the foothill parks may close temporarily after storms. Store food and trash securely at the higher parks north of the city.
