Campgrounds and RV parks near Clemson University, SC

Clemson University sits in the Upstate of South Carolina, in the rolling hills between Lake Hartwell and the southern edge of the Blue Ridge. RV travelers use the area as a base for lake recreation, Clemson Tigers football weekends, and trips into the mountains toward Table Rock and the Chattooga River corridor. Campground options within a short drive of campus include Clemson RV Park at the Grove in Pendleton, a full-hookup park in the rolling hills of Anderson County, and T. Ed Garrison Arena, an equestrian and event facility with on-site RV sites. On the lake itself, The Point RV at Lake Hartwell and Anderson / Lake Hartwell KOA Holiday sit along the shoreline west and south of campus, and The Shores of Asbury offers additional lake access in the Anderson area. Hartwell Lake, a US Army Corps of Engineers reservoir on the Georgia and South Carolina border, adds several federal campgrounds within roughly a half-hour of Clemson, giving travelers a mix of private resort, university-adjacent, and Corps options.

Corps of Engineers campgrounds on Hartwell Lake, including Twin Lakes, Oconee Point, Springfield, Coneross, and Watsadler, are reserved through Recreation.gov. Reservations open on a rolling six-month window, a service fee applies to cancellations and changes, and the maximum stay is 14 days within any 30-day period. Check-in is 3 p.m. and check-out is 2 p.m. Private parks handle their own bookings. Clemson RV Park at the Grove takes reservations through its website, by phone, or via booking platforms such as Campspot, and stays open year-round. Anderson / Lake Hartwell KOA Holiday books through KOA. T. Ed Garrison Arena RV sites are reserved by contacting the arena office directly, with football-weekend spots offered as availability allows.
