Campgrounds and RV parks near Liberty, SC

Liberty sits in Pickens County in the northwestern corner of South Carolina, roughly midway between Clemson and the Blue Ridge escarpment. RV travelers use it as a base for two very different experiences: mountain and lakeshore camping in the Jocassee Gorges area to the north, and Clemson University, Lake Hartwell, and equestrian and event traffic to the west. The closest developed sites cluster around Pendleton and Clemson. T. Ed Garrison Arena and Clemson RV Park at the Grove sit within a short drive and cater to event traffic, football weekends, and travelers using Clemson as a hub. Ivy Acres RV Park adds a smaller local option closer to Liberty itself. North of town, Keowee-Toxaway State Natural Area and Creekside Campground at Table Rock place RVers within reach of Lake Keowee, Table Rock Mountain, and the Foothills Trail. The mix of state park, university, and private campgrounds gives options on hookup level, length limits, and how much wilderness sits at the doorstep.

South Carolina State Parks handle Keowee-Toxaway and Table Rock through a single reservation system. Reservations may be made up to 13 months in advance, and reservations requested less than one day in advance of check-in must be made directly through the park. Maximum length of stay is 14 nights and minimum length of stay is 2 nights, with longer minimums possible on holidays. Private parks such as Clemson RV Park at the Grove and Ivy Acres RV Park book directly through the operator, often with instant online confirmation. T. Ed Garrison Arena is event-driven. There are 70 full-service RV sites on both sides of the main arena with 30- and 50-amp power, water, and sewer hookups for event patrons, and based on availability the sites are also open to visitors for Clemson football tailgating and trail riding, so call ahead to confirm.
