This was an incredible camping experience! It was the ideal way to camp, as we had always used tents before. It was fantastic that the RV was delivered and ready to use! There was ample space for my family to enjoy the room without feeling cramped. A big storm rolled in, and it was a great place to come together and use the appliances inside to cook dinner and watch a movie as a family. I highly recommend this rental for anyone seeking a great camping stay, and for anyone who has always wanted to try out the RV experience!

Frequently asked questions about campgrounds near Simpsonville, SC
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Simpsonville, SC?
RV rental in Simpsonville is one of the more affordable ways to explore Upstate South Carolina. Expect campervans to run about $95 to $160 per night, travel trailers around $80 to $150 (great cheap RV rental Simpsonville option), and larger Class C or Class A motorhomes between $175 and $350 per night. Hosts on RVezy set their own pricing, so booking Sunday through Thursday and avoiding BMW Performance Center event weeks or Heritage Park Amphitheatre concert weekends typically lands you the best deal. Pro tip: travel trailers delivered to a local campground like Springwood RV Park often beat motorhome pricing once you factor in fuel.
visitgreenvillesc.com/Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Simpsonville?
Good news: for nearly every RV on RVezy, your regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Simpsonville. South Carolina only requires a Class E or Class F non-commercial license when the RV's gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) exceeds 26,000 pounds, which almost no rental on the platform reaches. Class B campervans, Class C motorhomes, travel trailers, and most Class A units fall well under that threshold. You'll need to be 25 or older with a valid license, and RVezy verifies your identification right inside the booking flow, so you can confirm and start planning your Upstate SC trip in minutes.
dmv.sc.gov/driver-services/drivers-license/non-commercial-license---classes-e-fWhat protection comes with my Simpsonville RV rental?

Protection plans help cover damage to the RV and give you real peace of mind, whether you are heading up Highway 25 toward the Blue Ridge or settling into a campsite at Lake Hartwell. During checkout you choose the coverage level that fits your trip, hosts do not pick that for you. Coverage levels and inclusions are clearly outlined on RVezy so you can confidently plan your South Carolina RV trip.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if I need to cancel my Simpsonville RV rental?
Booking is low-risk because RVezy applies a clear, standardized cancellation policy to every reservation, including a money-back grace period right after you book. Refund outcomes depend on how far ahead of your trip you cancel. Because RVezy, not the host, manages the cancellation policy, the experience is consistent across every listing in Simpsonville. If your plans shift, just open your booking in your RVezy account and follow the prompts. Pro tip: lock in your dates early for popular weekends like Fall for Greenville or Clemson home football, you can still adjust later if your plans change.

Absolutely, many hosts offer pet-friendly RV rental Simpsonville options, and you can filter listings by Pet-Friendly to see them instantly. Once you are on the road, your pup will love Conestee Park's trail network just north of Simpsonville, the Swamp Rabbit Trail through Greenville County, and Paris Mountain State Park, which allows leashed pets on most trails and in the campground. Heritage Park in downtown Simpsonville is also leash-friendly. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm any pet fee and ask about a fenced spot at pickup, most Upstate hosts are dog people themselves and happy to help.
southcarolinaparks.com/paris-mountainCan the RV be delivered to my campground in Simpsonville?
Yes, RV delivery Simpsonville is one of the easiest ways to start your trip, especially if it's your first time renting an RV. Many local hosts will tow or drive the unit straight to a campground like Springwood RV Park in Greenville, Scuffle Town USA RV Park, or Paris Mountain State Park, level it, hook up water and 30/50-amp power, and walk you through every system before they leave. Filter listings by Delivery on RVezy to see who offers it, then message the host to confirm the campground address and any mileage fee. You skip towing stress and step straight into vacation mode.

You have excellent campgrounds within easy reach. Paris Mountain State Park (about 20 miles north in Greenville) offers paved sites with water and 30-amp electric, hot showers, and a dump station, with reservations available up to 13 months ahead through the official South Carolina State Parks system. Springwood RV Park in Greenville and Scuffletown USA RV Park near Simpsonville both offer full hookups close to town. Heading toward Clemson? The Springs at Lake Hartwell and other Lake Hartwell area parks put you near the water. Pro tip: Paris Mountain books out fast for fall color weekends in mid to late October, reserve early.
southcarolinaparks.com/paris-mountain/campingWhen is the best time of year for RV camping Simpsonville?
Honestly, Simpsonville's humid subtropical climate (Köppen Cfa) gives you a long, generous camping season. April through early June is the sweet spot, mid-80s by day, comfortable nights, dogwoods and azaleas in bloom. Fall (late September through early November) is arguably even better, with crisp 70-degree afternoons and brilliant Blue Ridge leaf color just an hour north. Summers hit the upper 80s to low 90s with humidity and afternoon thunderstorms, great if you have shore power for AC. Winters are mild (highs around 53°F in December), so a campervan rental Simpsonville trip is absolutely doable year-round with a heated unit.
weather.gov/gsp/I have never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving it?
You are going to be totally fine, first time renting an RV is more common than you would think on RVezy. Every host does a full walkthrough at pickup covering driving, leveling, propane, water, the generator, and dumping tanks, and they are a text away during your trip. Simpsonville is an ideal launch point because I-385 and Highway 14 are wide, modern, and mostly flat, so you can build confidence before heading into the mountains. Pro tip: choose a Class C motorhome or travel trailer under 25 feet for your first trip, they drive like a tall van and fit easily into Paris Mountain or Lake Hartwell sites.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat happens if something goes wrong with the RV on my trip?
You are never on your own. Every Simpsonville RV rental booked on RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, covering common issues like flat tires, battery jumps, lockouts, and towing if needed. Your host is also your first line of support, a quick message handles most small questions about water heaters, fridges, or generators. RVezy's customer support team is available before, during, and after your trip too. Pro tip: save the roadside number in your phone before pulling out of Simpsonville and snap a photo of the RV's VIN, it speeds up any call from a campground in the Blue Ridge foothills.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my RV rental across state lines or into Canada?
Yes, interstate travel is welcome on most Simpsonville RV rentals, which is great because you are 15 minutes from the North Carolina line via Highway 25. Popular cross-state routes include Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Savannah, and Charleston. Travel into Canada may be allowed depending on the host's insurance, just message them through the listing before booking to confirm. One important note: travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because insurance coverage does not extend there. Otherwise, you are free to roam the Southeast on your RV rental South Carolina adventure.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat kind of fuel mileage should I budget for in Simpsonville?
Upstate South Carolina gas prices typically track close to or slightly below the national average at stations along I-85 and I-385. Class B campervans get roughly 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 MPG, and Class A units land around 6 to 10 MPG. Travel trailer fuel use depends on your tow vehicle. A weekend RV camping Simpsonville trip up to Paris Mountain (about 40 miles round trip) might use less than a tank, while a 260-mile round trip to Charleston in a Class C will burn through a meaningful chunk of fuel. Pro tip: top off at Costco or Sam's Club in Greenville before heading out for the best per-gallon price.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Simpsonville?
For the most popular spots, plan ahead. South Carolina State Parks (including Paris Mountain) open reservations up to 13 months in advance through the official reserve.southcarolinaparks.com system, and summer weekends, October leaf-peeping, and holiday weekends fill 3-6 months out. Private parks like Springwood RV Park and Scuffle Town USA are usually bookable 2-4 weeks ahead for weekdays, while Clemson home football weekends at Clemson RV Park sell out almost a year in advance. Pro tip: weekday arrivals (Sunday through Wednesday) at Paris Mountain often have last-minute openings, and you'll have the lake trail nearly to yourself.
reserve.southcarolinaparks.com/paris-mountain/camping/What are local driving conditions like around Simpsonville?
Driving an RV around Simpsonville is genuinely easy. I-385 and I-85 are modern and well-maintained, and most secondary roads through Greenville County are RV-friendly. The one thing to watch is the climb up Paris Mountain on State Park Road, the entrance road is twisty with a few tight curves, so go slow and you will be fine in most rigs up to about 35 feet. Summer brings quick afternoon thunderstorms, so plan driving for mornings when possible. Avoid downtown Greenville's Main Street area in a larger rig, parking is limited. Pro tip: BMW Performance Center event days can add traffic on I-85 near Greer, check the calendar before you roll.
scdot.org/travel/travel-landing.aspxWhat amenities should I expect at campgrounds near Simpsonville?
Most campgrounds in the area are well-equipped. Paris Mountain State Park offers paved sites with water and 30-amp electric, hot showers, flush toilets, and a dump station. Private parks like Springwood RV Park and Scuffletown USA typically include full hookups (water, sewer, 20/30/50-amp), laundry, and Wi-Fi. Dump stations and potable water fills are easy to find across Greenville County. Pro tip: if you are boondocking or stopping at a Harvest Hosts winery near Travelers Rest, plan to fill water and dump at a full-hookup park like Springwood RV Park on your way back into town.
southcarolinaparks.com/paris-mountain/campingWhat is inside a typical Simpsonville RV rental?
You will be impressed by how dialed-in these RVs are. Most listings sleep 4 to 6 people, with a queen bed, convertible dinette, and sometimes bunks. Expect a full kitchen (typically a 3-burner stove, fridge/freezer, microwave, and sink), a wet or dry bathroom with shower and toilet, air conditioning (essential for those upper-80s July afternoons), a furnace for cool fall nights, and seatbelts for everyone traveling. Many motorhome rental Simpsonville options also include a generator, outdoor speakers, a TV, and Wi-Fi hotspots. Listings clearly show sleep count, amenities, and add-ons so you know exactly what is included. Pro tip: filter by Sleeps 6 or Generator if you are heading somewhere without shore power.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Simpsonville%2C%20South%20CarolinaHow do pickup, drop-off, and add-ons work?
Pickup is flexible and friendly. You'll meet your host at their location in or near Simpsonville (or they'll deliver, see the Delivery filter), do a 30-60 minute walkthrough, and head off. Drop-off is the same place at your agreed time, returned with a full fuel tank and empty waste tanks (or pay a dumping fee, usually $30-50). Popular add-ons include camp chairs, outdoor mats, kitchen kits, bedding, generators, bike racks, and a stocked dump/refill service. Each listing shows host mileage policy, some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, others include 100-150 free miles per day with a small per-mile fee beyond that. Message the host with your route to pick the best fit.
rvezy.com/How does payment and the security deposit work?
Payment is simple and secure, you pay directly through the RVezy platform with a credit or debit card, never in cash to the host. A security deposit is pre-authorized (not charged) on your card before pickup, with the amount set by the host and shown clearly on the listing. It is released back to you after drop-off, assuming no damage or policy issues. To avoid any holds: complete the walkthrough at pickup, return on time with a full fuel tank, and dump tanks (or pay the dump fee). Pro tip: use the same card for booking and the deposit, it makes the release back to your account on your family RV trip Simpsonville smoother.
