Campgrounds and RV parks near Startex, SC

Startex sits in Spartanburg County in South Carolina's Upstate, roughly midway between Spartanburg and Greenville along the I-85 corridor. The location puts RV travelers within a short drive of the Blue Ridge foothills, Lake Bowen, Lake Blalock, and the Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway, while Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport is only minutes away. That mix of highway access and lake and mountain scenery makes the area a practical base for both weekend trips and longer Upstate itineraries. Private RV parks handle most of the overnight demand in the immediate area. Options close to Startex include Beckon Ridge RV Park, 290 RV Park, Whispering Winds RV Park, GSP RV Park, and Cunningham RV Park. Most of these are full-hookup properties oriented toward travelers passing through on I-85 or staying for events at Michelin, BMW, or the airport. For state-park style camping, Croft State Park sits southeast of Spartanburg, and Paris Mountain and Table Rock State Parks lie farther west, offering standard sites with water and electric service.

Private parks near Startex, including Beckon Ridge RV Park, 290 RV Park, Whispering Winds RV Park, GSP RV Park, and Cunningham RV Park, generally take reservations directly by phone or through their own websites. Booking a few weeks ahead is usually enough outside of major events, but airport-adjacent and I-85 corridor parks fill quickly during BMW Performance Center classes, college move-in, and holiday weekends. South Carolina State Parks, including Croft, Paris Mountain, and Table Rock, use the state's central reservation system at SouthCarolinaParks.com. Sites can be booked up to 13 months in advance, and popular weekends at Table Rock and Paris Mountain often sell out shortly after the booking window opens.
