Campgrounds and RV parks near Piperton, TN

Downtown Memphis is roughly 30 miles west, putting Beale Street, Graceland, the National Civil Rights Museum, and the Memphis Zoo within reach for day trips. Closer to the RV parks, Shelby Farms Park offers paved trails and a lake, while the Agricenter Farmers Market operates next to its RV park. Water and outdoor recreation cluster around Wall Doxey State Park to the south. Spring Lake is stocked for fishing, has a boat launch, and is ringed by a nature trail roughly two and a half miles long. The park also runs two 18-hole disc golf courses, Spring Creek and Turkey Hollow, plus playgrounds, playing fields, and picnic pavilions available by reservation.

West Tennessee has a humid subtropical climate with four distinct seasons. Spring and fall are the most comfortable stretches for RV travel, with mild days and cool nights, though spring also brings the region's severe-thunderstorm and tornado risk. Rainfall is spread fairly evenly through the year, with the wettest totals typically falling in late winter and spring. Summer runs long, hot, and muggy, with afternoon highs frequently in the low 90s and overnight lows in the low 70s. Thunderstorms are common but rainfall totals often taper in late summer. Biting insects and high humidity are the main comfort issues for tent campers. Winters are short and generally cool rather than harsh, with typical January highs around 50°F and lows near freezing. Snowfall is light and rarely disrupts travel, averaging just a fraction of an inch in most months. Most private RV parks in the Memphis area, including Agricenter RV Park and EZ Daze RV Park, operate year-round, as does Front - Wall Doxey State Park.

The Memphis-side RV parks are urban to suburban in feel: paved or concrete pads, tight spacing, full hookups with 30- and 50-amp service, laundry, showers, and quick freeway access rather than deep woods. Agricenter RV Park and EZ Daze RV Park both fit this pattern, with EZ Daze adding a pool, fitness room, and dog park. Front - Wall Doxey State Park is a different experience: developed sites on loops around Spring Lake with water and electric hookups, a central dump station, bathhouses, and shaded, wooded pads. Cell service can be spotty in parts of the park. Bring a fishing license if planning to fish, and expect a day-use entrance fee for non-campers.
