Campgrounds and RV parks near Trezevant, TN

Natchez Trace State Park anchors the outdoor options. It covers roughly 48,000 acres with multiple lakes for fishing and paddling, a swim area, and about 250 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding through the surrounding state forest. Guests staying at Wrangler Horse Camp can ride directly from camp. Carroll County Thousand Acre Recreation Lake is the largest man-made lake in West Tennessee, with 22 miles of shoreline, two public sand beaches, and good bass, bluegill, and catfish fishing. Parkers Crossroads Battlefield, near the RV park of the same name, has a driving tour and visitor center covering the Civil War engagement. Jackson, about thirty minutes south, adds grocery runs and casual dining for travelers based at Jackson RV Park.

Spring and fall are the strongest windows for RV travel in this part of West Tennessee. March through May brings wildflowers and comfortable trail temperatures, though thunderstorms and tornado watches are common through April and into May. October delivers reliable color in the oak and hickory forests around Natchez Trace State Park and cooler nights that suit campfire evenings. Summer runs hot and humid, with afternoon highs regularly in the upper 80s and low 90s Fahrenheit and frequent pop-up storms. Lakefront sites at Carroll County Thousand Acre Recreation Lake and the Natchez Trace lakes are in heavy demand from Memorial Day through Labor Day, so book early for weekends and holidays. Winter is mild by northern standards but wet, with average January highs in the mid 40s Fahrenheit. Some Natchez Trace loops close after December 1, and private RV parks that stay open often run on reduced services. Freezing nights occur but rarely last long enough to require full winterization mid-trip.

Expect a mix of rural back roads and quick interstate access. Trezevant is off US-79, and most campgrounds are reached on two-lane state routes. GPS routing is generally reliable, but drivers of longer rigs should watch for low-clearance rail bridges on older county roads. Hook-ups vary. Interstate parks like Parkers Crossroads RV Park and Campground and Jackson RV Park typically offer full hook-ups with 30 and 50 amp service. Wrangler Horse Camp at Natchez Trace provides water and electric with 20, 30, and 50 amp service, two bathhouses, and a dump station rather than sewer at each pad. Carroll County Thousand Acre Recreation Lake offers water, electric, and a dump station in a lakeside setting. Cell coverage is solid near the interstate and patchy deep inside the state park. Grocery and fuel runs are easiest in Huntingdon, McKenzie, or Jackson.
