Campgrounds and RV parks near Annetta South, TX

Annetta South sits in Parker County, Texas, just off the I-20 corridor between Weatherford and Fort Worth. The location gives RV travelers quick access to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex to the east and the rolling ranch country of the Palo Pinto Mountains and Possum Kingdom Lake to the west. Most nearby campgrounds cluster along the I-20 frontage roads and US 180, which makes arrival and departure straightforward for larger rigs. Cowtown RV Park and Gallagher Acres RV Park are among the closest options, followed by Open Valley RV Park and Hooves N Wheels RV Park and Horse Motel, which caters to travelers hauling horses as well as trailers. The Weatherford / Fort Worth West KOA Journey rounds out the immediate options with the standard KOA amenity set. The area has a humid subtropical climate with strong seasonal temperature contrasts due to its inland location. Summers are hot and winters are cool but variable, so trip timing matters when choosing sites and hookup levels.

Most private RV parks in the Annetta South, Weatherford, and Aledo area take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone, with some also listed on third-party booking platforms. The Weatherford / Fort Worth West KOA Journey uses the standard KOA reservation system, which allows online booking and account-based loyalty rewards. For Texas state parks in the wider region, such as Mineral Wells State Park and Cleburne State Park, reservations go through the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Texas State Parks open reservations five months in advance on a rolling basis at 8:00 AM Central Time. Weekends around Fort Worth Stock Show, spring break, and major holidays book out early. When reserving, confirm rig length limits, big-rig turn radius, pull-through availability, and whether the site supports 30-amp or 50-amp service.
