Bells sits in Grayson County along U.S. Highway 82, roughly midway between Sherman and Bonham in the Texoma region of North Texas. The town works well as a base for RV travelers exploring Lake Texoma to the north, Lake Bonham to the east, and the rolling blackjack woodland and prairie country in between. Options close to town run from small, quiet private RV parks to larger recreation-area campgrounds on the water. Route 82 RV Park and Melody Ranch sit along the highway corridor for easy in-and-out access, while Lazy L RV Park and Riverview RV and Recreational Park offer more settled stays for travelers who want a longer stopover. Lake Bonham Recreation Area, a short drive east near Bonham, provides waterfront sites for RVers who want fishing and boating from camp. Grayson County works year-round for RV travel, with mild shoulder seasons, hot summers, and generally short winters.

For federal sites, Lake Texoma's Corps of Engineers campgrounds book through Recreation.gov. Peak-season reservations are strongly recommended and can be made months in advance for summer weekends and holidays. Texas state parks, including Bonham State Park and Eisenhower State Park on Lake Texoma, use a booking window of about five months for standard campsites, with longer lead times available for group facilities. Day-use passes can also be reserved online, and popular parks often reach capacity. Lake Bonham Recreation Area is a City of Bonham facility and takes campsite reservations online through Campspot. Nearby private parks such as Route 82 RV Park, Melody Ranch, Lazy L RV Park, and Riverview RV and Recreational Park typically book directly by phone or through their own websites.
