Campgrounds and RV parks near Blossom, TX

Pat Mayse Lake drives most of the outdoor activity in the area. Recreation on the lake covers boating and water skiing, fishing for largemouth bass, white bass, crappie, sunfish, and channel and flathead catfish, plus hiking, wildlife viewing, and hunting on adjacent public lands. The reservoir offers roughly 6,000 acres of surface water with dozens of miles of shoreline, set among gently rolling grasslands and hardwood forests. In town, families use the Love Civic Center grounds for events and stopovers, and Paris itself offers restaurants, grocery resupply, and the well-known Eiffel Tower replica. Ridge Ranch Eclipse Park caters to astronomy-focused visits and rural retreats. Hunters should note that the surrounding Corps lands are managed for upland game and whitetail deer and are open as a public hunting area. Game species include deer, fox squirrel, gray squirrel, bobwhite quail, mourning dove, cottontail rabbit, raccoon, and fox.

Northeast Texas has a humid subtropical climate with hot summers, cool winters, and rainfall spread through the year. Spring is the wettest stretch, with thunderstorms common from March into May and May typically the wettest month. Summer brings high heat and humidity, but this is also when lake use peaks, with fishing tournaments and water recreation drawing steady crowds to the Corps campgrounds, which remain open year-round. Fall offers the most comfortable RV weather, with warm days, cooler nights, and lower rainfall through October and November. Hunting seasons on nearby public lands also draw visitors in autumn and early winter. Winter is mild by national standards but can bring cold snaps, freezing rain, and occasional light snow, especially in January and February. Many private parks stay open through winter, though services and amenities may run on reduced schedules. Reservation demand tightens quickly around holiday weekends and warm-weather tournaments, particularly for weekend stays during the warmer months.

Sites in the region range from full-hookup private parks to more basic Corps campgrounds. Pat Mayse West and Sanders Cove are the primary developed Corps options, both offering electric hookups, potable water, flush and vault toilets, showers at most locations, a dump station, and boat ramp access. Full sewer hookups are generally not available at the Corps sites, so RVers should plan dump-station stops. Private parks near Blossom tend to be small, quiet, and rural, with a mix of pull-through and back-in sites. Cell coverage is generally usable along US 82 and near Paris but can drop off closer to the lake and adjacent wildlife management lands. Bring insect repellent in warm months, and plan grocery and fuel stops in Paris.
