Campgrounds and RV parks near Caddo Mills, TX

Caddo Mills sits in Hunt County about 40 miles northeast of downtown Dallas, just off Interstate 30 between Rockwall and Greenville. The town works well as an RV base for travelers who want quick access to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex without paying urban RV-park prices or dealing with city traffic at the end of each day. Sites here fill regularly with rigs bound for Dallas events, family visits, and lake trips. Most camping in the immediate area is privately owned and geared to full-hookup RV travel. Dallas Northeast Campground, Royal Oaks RV Park, Holiday Road Travel Center, Countryside RV Park, and Dallas Fate RV Park cover a range of stay lengths from overnight to long-term. The closest public option is Lake Tawakoni State Park, roughly 25 miles south, which offers reservable sites with electric and water hookups on a large reservoir. The surrounding landscape is flat blackland prairie broken by oak groves, small lakes, and farm roads, so pull-through access and big-rig sites are common at nearby parks.

Private parks in and around Caddo Mills, including Dallas Northeast Campground, Royal Oaks RV Park, Holiday Road Travel Center, Countryside RV Park, and Dallas Fate RV Park, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Many list on Campspot, Good Sam, or RV Life, and most accept nightly, weekly, and monthly stays. For Lake Tawakoni State Park, reservations go through the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Most overnight camping or lodging reservations may be reserved up to five months in advance, and the park often reaches capacity on weekends, so booking early is recommended. A day-use entry fee or Texas State Parks Pass is required in addition to a campsite reservation. Holiday weekends, spring break, and the fall shoulder season book out first. Reserve four to eight weeks ahead when possible.
