Campgrounds near Daingerfield, Texas
Daingerfield sits in the Piney Woods of northeast Texas, in Morris County near the tri-state corner with Arkansas and Louisiana. The town is a practical base for RV trips built around Daingerfield State Park, an 80-acre lake tucked into tall pines, oaks and hardwoods that the park service calls the Cathedral of Trees. Nearby Lake O' the Pines, a large Corps of Engineers reservoir south of town, adds bigger-water boating and fishing within a short drive.
The closest option is Mountainview at Daingerfield State Park, one of several camping loops inside the park with full hookups. Private RV parks in and around town round out the choices, including Hope Springs RV Campground, Scenic View Motel and RV Park, Lucky Buck's Lodge & RV Park, and Camp Langston RV Resort.
The park itself works well for families: a swimming area, fishing pier, paddle boat and kayak rentals, and short forested trails. Grocery runs, a laundromat and the small Morris Movie Theatre are only a few miles away in Daingerfield, and Longview, Mount Pleasant and Texarkana are all within about an hour for larger errands.
Things to do near Daingerfield
Water is the main draw. On the 80-acre lake at Daingerfield State Park, campers can swim from the designated area, fish from the pier without a license, and rent paddle boats, canoes, kayaks or flat-bottom boats from the park store. The lake has a 5 mph speed limit, and anglers target largemouth bass, catfish, crappie, sunfish and the unusual chain pickerel.
On foot, the Rustling Leaves Nature Trail circles the lake as an easy family hike, and the shorter Mountain View Trail climbs to the park's high point. Birding, geocaching and picnicking are popular, and dogwoods bloom in spring while maples color the woods in fall.
For bigger water, Lake O' the Pines is a short drive south with Corps of Engineers boat ramps. Historic Jefferson, antique shopping, and Caddo Lake are reachable as day trips.

Spring and fall are the strongest seasons for RV travel here. From late March through May, daytime highs run in the 70s and low 80s, dogwoods and wildflowers bloom, and the lake warms enough for casual paddling. Rainfall peaks in spring, so expect thunderstorms and check severe-weather alerts, particularly April and May.
Summers are hot and humid, with July and August highs commonly in the low to mid 90s and overnight lows near 72. The lake stays busy on weekends for swimming and boating; weekdays are noticeably quieter. Bring shade, insect repellent and plenty of water, and plan hikes early or late in the day.
Fall brings cooler nights, generally lighter rainfall in September, and color in the hardwoods from late October into November. Winters are mild with occasional cold snaps and rain. Daingerfield State Park stays open year-round, but some private parks reduce hours and lake-based activities slow considerably once water temperatures drop.
How to book a campsite near Daingerfield
Daingerfield State Park is managed by Texas Parks and Wildlife. Sites, cabins and the lodge are booked through the Texas State Parks reservation portal online or by phone with the customer service center, and the booking window opens 5 months in advance at 8 a.m. Central Time. Weekends in spring and fall, plus most of summer, fill quickly, so reserve early.
The park charges a daily entrance fee in addition to camping fees, and the Texas State Parks Pass covers entry for a year across the state system. If a site is not available at Mountainview or the other loops inside the park, the private RV parks in the area, including Hope Springs RV Campground, Scenic View Motel and RV Park, Lucky Buck's Lodge & RV Park and Camp Langston RV Resort, book directly with the operator and are useful as backup.
What to expect on-site
Inside Daingerfield State Park, the reservation system lists about 34 full-hookup sites plus water-only sites and a few cabins, spread across loops named Big Pine, Dogwood, Mountain View and Cedar Ridge. Big Pine accommodates larger rigs, with several pull-through pads up to around 46 feet, while some Mountain View and Dogwood pads are shorter and better suited to smaller trailers and vans. Check individual site dimensions before booking.
Sites include a fire ring with cooking grate, aluminum picnic table, water and electric, and sewer on the full-hookup loops. Restrooms and showers are reported to be well kept. Cell service can be spotty depending on carrier, and Texas Parks and Wildlife asks visitors to buy firewood locally rather than transporting it in.
Quiet hours are enforced overnight, pets must be leashed at all times, and a fishing license is not required to fish from park shorelines or from a boat on the lake.

Frequently asked questions about campgrounds near Daingerfield, TX
How much does an RV rental in Daingerfield cost?
Renting an RV in Daingerfield is one of the most affordable ways to enjoy the East Texas Piney Woods. On RVezy, you'll typically find travel trailers from around $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes from $175 to $250, and larger Class A coaches from $250 to $400, depending on season and amenities. For the cheapest RV rental in Daingerfield, book midweek and target spring (March-April) or late fall when demand around Daingerfield State Park drops. Pro tip: filter for travel trailers if you already have a tow vehicle, since they're consistently the lowest-priced option and fit perfectly in the park's 87-foot Big Pine pull-throughs.
tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/daingerfieldWhat license do I need to rent an RV in Daingerfield, TX?
Good news: a regular Class C driver's license (your everyday Texas or out-of-state license) is all you need to rent an RV in Daingerfield for nearly every rig on RVezy. Texas only requires a non-commercial Class B license for personal-use motorhomes with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) over 26,000 pounds, which is well above most Class B campervans, Class C motorhomes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels listed on the platform. You'll need to be 25 or older, and RVezy verifies your ID right inside the booking flow. Visiting from abroad? Bring your home license plus an International Driving Permit and you're set to hit Highway 49 toward the pines.
dps.texas.gov/section/driver-license/types-driver-licensesIs my RV rental in Daingerfield protected if something goes wrong?
Yes, every RV rental in Daingerfield booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can head toward Little Pine Lake with real peace of mind. Protection plans cover accidental physical damage to the RV at the coverage level you choose during checkout, and roadside assistance is included to help with flat tires, lockouts, and tows. Your host delivers a clean, road-ready rig, and RVezy backs you up if something unexpected happens. That safety net is a big reason first-time renters feel confident booking a Daingerfield RV trip, even before they have ever towed a trailer.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if I need to cancel my Daingerfield RV booking?
Booking is low risk. RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and you can review the exact terms on the checkout page before you pay. Refund amounts depend on how far in advance you cancel, and qualifying extenuating circumstances may apply, which matters in East Texas where spring thunderstorms occasionally shift plans. If a host cancels on you, RVezy refunds you or provides travel credit. Pro tip: book your RV first to lock in a unit, then reserve your Daingerfield State Park campsite through Texas Parks and Wildlife.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Daingerfield?
Absolutely, your dog is going to love this trip. Plenty of hosts offer pet-friendly RV rental in Daingerfield, and you can find them in seconds by toggling the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy. Daingerfield State Park welcomes leashed pets (six-foot leash max) on the campgrounds, park roads, and trails including the 2.4-mile Rustling Leaves loop around Little Pine Lake, though they aren't allowed inside park buildings like the cabins or store. Bring proof of rabies vaccination, a portable water bowl for those 90-plus-degree summer afternoons, and a long-line tie-out for your campsite. Message the host before booking if you have a large breed or more than two pets, and you'll be all set.
tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/park-information/petsCan the RV be delivered to my campsite in Daingerfield?
Yes, RV delivery in Daingerfield is one of the most popular options on RVezy, and it is a game changer for first-time renters. Many local hosts will tow or drive the RV directly to your site at Daingerfield State Park, level it, hook up water and 30/50-amp power, and walk you through the systems before they leave. Use the Delivery filter when searching to see hosts who offer it, and expect a flat fee based on mileage from Daingerfield, Mount Pleasant, or Longview. You just show up, unpack the cooler, and start your trip with zero towing stress.
tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/daingerfield/fees-facilities/campsitesHow does mileage work, and how far can I drive from Daingerfield?
Most Daingerfield hosts include between 100 and 150 free miles per night, and some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, just message the host before booking to confirm. That is plenty of room for the classic East Texas loop: Daingerfield State Park is about 3 miles east of town on Park Road 17, Lake O' the Pines is roughly 25 miles south, Caddo Lake State Park sits about 55 miles southeast, Texarkana is around 60 miles northeast, and Tyler is about 75 miles southwest. Extra miles typically run $0.30 to $0.50 each. Pro tip: map your route first, then filter listings by included miles so there are no surprises at drop-off.
