Campgrounds and RV parks near Friendswood, TX

Friendswood sits in the Bay Area corridor between Houston and Galveston in southeast Texas, roughly 25 miles from downtown Houston and 30 miles from the Gulf Coast. The location works well as an RV base: the region has a humid subtropical climate with hot summers, mild winters, and rainfall spread fairly evenly through the year, and the flat coastal-prairie terrain makes travel between the city, NASA, and the beach straightforward. Most RVers pick from private full-hookup parks in and around Friendswood, Pearland, and Webster. Options within a short drive include Harvest Acres RV Park and Mini Storage, Harvest Acres RV Park, Pearwood RV Park, Jetstream NASA, and Jetstream RV Resort at NASA. These sit close to I-45, Beltway 8, and NASA Parkway, keeping drives to Space Center Houston, Kemah Boardwalk, and Galveston under an hour in normal traffic. For state-park camping, the two closest options are Galveston Island State Park on the Gulf and Brazos Bend State Park inland to the southwest, both operated by Texas Parks and Wildlife.

State-park sites at Galveston Island and Brazos Bend are reserved through Texas Parks and Wildlife. Sites can be booked up to five months in advance from the current date through the Texas State Parks reservation system, with phone reservations handled by the TPWD Customer Service Center. Popular weekends, holidays, and spring break dates fill quickly at both parks, so book as soon as the window opens. For private RV parks near Friendswood, including Harvest Acres RV Park and Mini Storage, Harvest Acres RV Park, Pearwood RV Park, Jetstream NASA, and Jetstream RV Resort at NASA, book directly with each park by phone or website. Monthly stays are common in this market, so nightly availability is tighter than the site count suggests, especially during NASA-related events and Galveston festivals.
