Campgrounds and RV parks near Krum, TX

Krum is a small town in Denton County, about 10 miles west of Denton and roughly an hour north of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Its location off US-380 and near I-35 makes it a practical staging point for RV travelers heading to Ray Roberts Lake, a 29,350-acre rural lake managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers near Aubrey, Texas, as well as Lake Lewisville and the Texoma region. Campground options in the immediate area lean toward small, privately owned RV parks with full hookups. Ranch 380 RV Park and Post Oak Place RV Park sit close to the US-380 corridor, while Wagon Master RV Park and Alpaca Farm offers a rural farm setting. Corral City RV Park is south toward the Denton area, and the Sanger / Denton North KOA Journey is a short drive north off I-35 for travelers who prefer a franchise property. For state-park camping, the closest large public option is Ray Roberts Lake State Park, a Texas Parks and Wildlife property with nine units, three of which offer recreation and overnight facilities: Johnson Branch, Isle du Bois and Jordan.

Private RV parks in the Krum area, including Ranch 380 RV Park, Wagon Master RV Park and Alpaca Farm, Post Oak Place RV Park, and Corral City RV Park, typically take reservations directly by phone or through their own websites. The Sanger / Denton North KOA Journey books through the KOA reservation system. Weekends fill fastest in spring and fall, so booking several weeks ahead is advisable. For Ray Roberts Lake State Park, reservations go through Texas Parks and Wildlife. For most campsites, reservations can typically be made up to 5 months in advance; pavilions and group camps allow reservations up to 12 months in advance, and daily entrance reservations can be made up to 1 month ahead. The park often reaches capacity and recommends reservations for both camping and day use; to guarantee entry, reserve passes online or by calling the customer service center before you visit.
