Campgrounds near Naples, Texas
Naples sits in Morris County in the northeast corner of Texas, in the Pineywoods region within easy reach of the Arkansas and Louisiana borders. The town works as a practical base for RV travelers heading to the tall pines, lakes, and small state parks that define this part of the state. Daingerfield State Park, about twenty minutes south, is a compact 550-acre park built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s and known locally as the Cathedral of Trees for its stands of pines, oaks, maples, and dogwoods.
The closest RV options range from small private parks to a full state park campground. Lucky Buck's Lodge & RV Park and Hope Springs RV Campground sit near town, while Camp Langston RV Resort and Scenic View Motel and RV Park offer additional private hookups within a short drive. Mountainview at Daingerfield State Park puts campers on an 80-acre lake surrounded by pine forest, with full-hookup and water-only sites spread across several loops including Cedar Ridge, Big Pine, Dogwood, and Mountain View. Together, these campgrounds cover most travel styles, from quick overnights off US-259 to longer family stays on the water.
Things to do near Naples
Water activities anchor most trips. At Daingerfield State Park, the 80-acre lake supports swimming, boating, paddling, and fishing, and rentals for paddle boats, paddle boards, canoes, kayaks, and flat-bottom boats are available at the park store. Motors are permitted but the lake has a 5-mph speed limit, which keeps things calm. The 2.4-mile Rustling Leaves Trail loops the lake and works well for families with mixed hiking abilities.
Anglers have serious options within a short drive. Lake O' the Pines, on Big Cypress Creek about 25 miles northeast of Longview, holds largemouth and spotted bass, catfish, white bass, crappie, sunfish, and chain pickerel. Farther east, Caddo Lake offers trophy bass fishing and cypress-lined bayous. The historic riverport town of Jefferson, about 30 miles southeast of Daingerfield, sits within day-trip range and adds shopping, dining, and boat tours.

55° / 34°F 105 mmCool and wet; occasional hard freezes and ice storms
Spring and fall are the strongest windows for RV travel. Wildflowers, dogwoods, and warming lake water make March through May the busiest booking season, and largemouth bass fishing is strong throughout spring, with March generally the most productive month for trophy fish. October and early November bring cooler nights, changing hardwoods among the pines, and lighter crowds, and this stretch rivals spring as the most popular time at Daingerfield State Park.
Summer is hot and humid, with July and August afternoon highs regularly in the mid-90s Fahrenheit. Afternoon thunderstorms are common, and campgrounds on the water fill on weekends around Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, and Labor Day.
Winter camping is viable but variable. January is the coldest month, with average highs in the mid-50s and lows around freezing. Hard freezes and occasional ice storms pass through, and some private parks scale back services, so confirming hookup availability before arrival is worthwhile. Crappie and white bass anglers often prefer these months for winter and early-spring runs.
How to book campgrounds near Naples
State park sites at Daingerfield use the Texas Parks & Wildlife reservation system. Reservations can be made for the current day and up to five months in advance, and popular weekends in spring and fall book out well before the arrival date. Booking as soon as the window opens is the safest approach for the Mountain View, Big Pine, Dogwood, and Cedar Ridge loops.
Private parks such as Lucky Buck's Lodge & RV Park, Hope Springs RV Campground, Camp Langston RV Resort, and Scenic View Motel and RV Park take reservations directly by phone or through their own websites. Policies on cancellations, deposits, and rig-length limits vary by property.
A daily entrance fee applies at the state park in addition to the site fee. If campers do not check in by noon of the day after the scheduled arrival date, the rest of the reservation is cancelled and site fees are forfeited, so calling ahead is important for late arrivals.
What to expect
The setting is classic East Texas Pineywoods: tall loblolly and shortleaf pines, hardwoods, and quiet lake shorelines. At Daingerfield State Park, the Big Pine loop has pull-through full-hookup sites that accommodate larger rigs, while Mountain View and other loops are better suited to shorter units due to site length and turning constraints. Sites include picnic tables, fire rings with cooking grates, and either full hookups or water-only service depending on loop. Restrooms and showers are generally well maintained.
Cell coverage is uneven under the tree canopy, and campers have reported limited signal at some sites, so downloading maps and reservation confirmations before arrival is wise.
Morris County is under a quarantine to prevent the spread of the emerald ash borer, so moving firewood is restricted. Buy firewood where you burn it. The park store stocks basics, and the town of Daingerfield has a grocery store and restaurants a short drive away.

txdmv.gov/motoristsWhat happens if something goes wrong on the road?

Travel into Mexico is not allowed on RVezy rentals because insurance and protection coverage stop at the border. For any out-of-state trip, just message the host before booking to confirm your route. It's a quick conversation that opens the door to a much bigger adventure.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityHow much should I budget for fuel on a Naples, TX RV trip?
Fuel is usually the second-biggest line item after the rental itself. Travel trailers add roughly 2 to 4 mpg of drag to your tow vehicle, Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 mpg, and Class A coaches run 6 to 10 mpg. Gas prices in the Naples and Mount Pleasant area typically sit a few cents below the Texas state average, which is among the cheapest in the country. A weekend round trip to Lake O' the Pines (50 miles) might cost $20 to $30 in fuel, while a 350-mile loop through Tyler and Caddo Lake could run $80 to $120. Pro tip: fuel up in Mount Pleasant or Daingerfield before heading into more remote piney woods areas.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground for my Naples, TX RV trip?
For peak windows (spring break, Memorial Day, July 4, and fall foliage from late October to mid-November), reserve Daingerfield State Park up to five months ahead through the Texas State Parks reservation system. The Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds at Lake O' the Pines (Alley Creek, Brushy Creek, Buckhorn Creek, Johnson Creek) book through Recreation.gov, and summer weekends typically fill 60 to 90 days out. Weekdays and winter months are usually wide-open even on short notice. Pro tip: reserve your campsite first, then book your RV on RVezy with matching dates so delivery and pickup line up perfectly.
tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/park-information/reservationsWhat are local driving conditions like around Naples, TX?
Driving an RV around Naples, TX is refreshingly low-stress. US-67 and US-259 are the main routes through town, both wide, well-maintained two- to four-lane highways with light traffic compared to Dallas or Houston. The terrain is gently rolling Piney Woods, no mountain passes or sharp grades. Watch for occasional deer at dawn and dusk, sudden spring thunderstorms that can drop heavy rain, and the rare tornado warning between April and June (check your weather app daily). Inside Daingerfield State Park the interior roads are narrow and curvy, so rigs over 35 feet should head straight for the Big Pine Campground.
