North Texas has a humid subtropical climate with hot summers and mild winters. In the Terrell area, summers are hot and muggy, winters are cold, wet, and windy, and it is partly cloudy year round, with temperatures typically varying from the mid-30s to the mid-90s Fahrenheit and rarely below the mid-20s or above 101.
