Campgrounds and RV parks near Westworth Village, TX

Lake Worth anchors most outdoor activity, with fishing, kayaking, and boat ramps a short drive from any of the nearby RV parks. The Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge, on the northwest side of the lake, offers marsh boardwalks, bison viewing, and hiking trails suitable for kids. In town, families can pair camping with the Fort Worth Zoo, the Museum of Science and History, and the Kimbell Art Museum in the cultural district. The historic Stockyards host daily cattle drives and rodeos. For day trips, Eagle Mountain Lake sits just north, and Lake Grapevine, with several Corps of Engineers parks, is roughly thirty miles east. Cyclists can pick up the Trinity Trails system directly from the river corridor and ride most of the way into downtown.

Spring is a busy RV season in North Texas. March through May brings mild days, wildflowers along the Trinity, and full lake levels, but it is also the peak severe-weather window, with thunderstorms, hail, and occasional tornado watches. Sites near Lake Worth and the DFW airport corridor fill quickly on weekends, so reservations well ahead of arrival are recommended. Summer stays hot. June through August routinely produces afternoon highs in the mid-nineties or above, and triple-digit stretches are common in July and August. Shaded, full-hookup sites with reliable 50-amp service become essential, and lake activity shifts to early morning and evening. Fall is generally the most comfortable season for camping, with warm days, cooler nights, and lower rainfall through October. Winter is short and mild overall, though cold fronts can drop temperatures below freezing for a few days at a time, and hard freezes occasionally affect water hookups.

Most RV parks near Westworth Village are urban or lakeside sites rather than backcountry campgrounds. Expect paved or gravel pads, 30- and 50-amp electric, water and sewer hookups, and a mix of pull-through and back-in sites. Cell coverage is strong across the metro, and grocery, fuel, and dump stations are close at hand. Roads into the parks are generally paved and passable for large Class A rigs and fifth wheels, though some lake access roads narrow near the shoreline. Summer heat means shade, tree cover, and a working air conditioner matter more than elevation. Families should plan for mosquitoes near the river and lake in warm months, occasional flash-flood advisories during spring storms, and load management on hot afternoons when the whole park runs AC at once.
