Campgrounds and RV parks near Whitewright, TX

Whitewright sits in Grayson County in North Texas, roughly an hour north of Dallas and about 20 minutes southeast of Sherman. The town is small and rural, so most RV options fall into two groups: private full-hookup parks along the US-82 and US-75 corridors, and public lake campgrounds a short drive north toward the Oklahoma border. Route 82 RV Park and Melody Ranch serve travelers along the US-82 corridor between Sherman and Paris, while Anna Country RV Ranch and Lazy L RV Park sit closer to the US-75 corridor south of Whitewright. For a waterfront stay, Lake Bonham Recreation Area is a 1,020-acre destination in the Prairies and Lakes Region of northern Texas, just south of the Texas-Oklahoma border in Fannin County, roughly 30 minutes northeast of town. The surrounding area is flat to gently rolling, with easy road access, and pairs well with day trips to Lake Texoma, Bonham State Park, and the Sam Rayburn House and Eisenhower Birthplace state historic sites.

Private parks such as Route 82 RV Park, Melody Ranch, Anna Country RV Ranch, and Lazy L RV Park generally take reservations by phone or through their own websites, and several also list on third-party booking platforms. Ask about big-rig access, pull-through length, and 50-amp availability when calling. Lake Bonham Recreation Area campsites can be reserved online through the campground's booking partner, while the pavilion and event room are handled by calling the Lake Manager. A boat permit is required and can be purchased on-site from the Lake Manager, at the Kwik Chek convenience store on FM 273, or at Bonham City Hall. Nearby Texas State Parks, including Bonham State Park, use the Texas Parks and Wildlife reservation system, where most overnight camping and lodging reservations can be made up to five months in advance. Book early for holiday weekends.
