Campgrounds and RV parks near Dryden, VA

Dryden sits in Lee County in far southwestern Virginia, along the U.S. Route 58 corridor between Pennington Gap and Big Stone Gap. The town is tucked into the ridge-and-valley Appalachians, within reach of the Powell River, the Clinch River, and the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park to the west. RV travelers use Dryden as a base for exploring the coalfields region, the Wilderness Road corridor, and the karst landscape that defines this corner of the state. Campground options in the immediate area lean toward small, family-run parks with hookups, plus a state-park campground for travelers who want more infrastructure. Jessie Lea RV Park and Campground and Clinch River Valley Family Campground Llc sit close to town, while Natural Tunnel State Park offers electric and water hookup sites inside a public park with a full amenity footprint. Holston Hideaway serves travelers heading toward the Tennessee border. Drivers coming from Kentucky often stage at Harlan County Campgrounty- RV Park before crossing the Cumberland range into Virginia.

Natural Tunnel State Park sites are reserved through the Virginia State Parks reservation system at reservevaparks.com, which allows bookings up to eleven months ahead. Lover's Leap Campground handles RV sites with electric and water hookups on a reservation basis, while the smaller Cove View Campground is first-come, first-served. Holiday weekends and the peak summer stretch fill first, so RV renters should target dates as soon as trips are set. Private parks such as Jessie Lea RV Park and Campground, Clinch River Valley Family Campground Llc, and Holston Hideaway generally take reservations directly by phone or through their own websites. Availability is easier midweek and outside major holidays. For trips staged from Kentucky, Harlan County Campgrounty- RV Park handles bookings independently. Confirm rig-length limits and hookup type at booking, since some sites in the region are cut into hillside terrain.
