Campgrounds and RV parks near Lebanon, VA

Lebanon sits in Russell County in far Southwest Virginia, the county seat and a practical base for RV trips into the Clinch River valley and the surrounding Appalachian ridges. The town is small and rural, and the campground supply reflects that: a mix of privately run RV parks, adventure-oriented parks tied to the region's ATV trail systems, and rustic public sites on state wildlife land. The closest options include Camp Mountventures and Creek Side RV Park, with Laurel Creek RV Park adding another nearby choice for hookup sites. About an hour north, Southern Gap Outdoor Adventure RV Park serves riders using the Spearhead Trails system near Grundy. To the south toward the Tennessee line, Shadrack Campground is a common overnight for travelers heading to Bristol Motor Speedway. Elevations across the area run roughly 1,800 to 2,500 feet, so nights can be noticeably cooler than lower elevations in Virginia. Cell coverage varies once RVs leave US-19 or the Route 58/460 corridors, and grades on secondary roads can be steep. Trip planning here rewards a paper map alongside a routing app.

Private RV parks in the area, including Camp Mountventures, Creek Side RV Park, Laurel Creek RV Park, Southern Gap Outdoor Adventure RV Park, and Shadrack Campground, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Some also list availability on third-party platforms. For Southern Gap, reserving early is recommended when ATV events or elk viewing tours are scheduled. Bristol race weekends are the main pinch point. Sites within a reasonable drive of Bristol Motor Speedway, Shadrack included, book out months ahead for the April Food City 500 and the September Bass Pro Shops Night Race, and many parks apply race-week minimums. For public land in the area, check the managing agency (Virginia DWR for wildlife management areas, DCR for natural area preserves) since access rules and any required permits vary by parcel.
