Campgrounds near Bell Hill, Washington
Bell Hill is an unincorporated community in Clallam County on the north side of the Olympic Peninsula, sitting just south of Sequim. The community shares the microclimate of the Sequim-Dungeness Valley, which lies in the Olympic rain shadow and averages roughly 16 inches of rain per year, less than most of western Washington and giving the area its "Sunny Sequim" nickname.
RV travelers use Bell Hill and Sequim as a base for Olympic National Park, Hurricane Ridge, the Dungeness Spit, and the lavender farms of the Dungeness Valley. U.S. Route 101 runs along the base of the hill and connects Port Townsend to the east with Port Angeles about 17 miles west.
Options within a short drive include Gilgal Oasis RV Park, Sequim West RV Park, John Wayne's Waterfront Resort, Sequim Bay State Park on the saltwater, and Rainbow's End RV Park. Private parks generally offer full hookups and pull-throughs; the state park mixes standard sites with a smaller hookup loop and adds bay access and a stop on the Olympic Discovery Trail.
Things to do near Bell Hill
Olympic National Park is the main draw. Hurricane Ridge sits about a 45-minute drive southwest via Port Angeles and delivers alpine views over the Olympics and the Strait of Juan de Fuca, with hiking in summer and snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and sledding in winter. Lake Crescent and Sol Duc Hot Springs lie further west along Highway 101.
Closer to camp, the Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge protects the Dungeness Spit, one of the longest natural sand spits in the United States and a strong bird-watching site. Sequim Bay offers protected water for kayaking and paddleboarding, and shellfishing for crab, clams, and oysters is popular in season.
The Olympic Discovery Trail runs paved through Sequim and past several campgrounds, connecting the town with Port Angeles for cyclists and walkers. In July, the Sequim Lavender Festival draws crowds to farms across the valley.

Peak season around Bell Hill runs from late June through early August, driven by lavender bloom, the mid-July Sequim Lavender Festival, and reliable dry weather. Lodging across the Olympic Peninsula fills weeks in advance for festival weekend, and popular state park sites frequently book up months out for summer.
Sequim Bay State Park operates year-round, but its reservation window is limited: reservations can be made to stay between May 15 and September 15, with camping first come, first served September 16 through May 14. Some sites close in winter. Private RV parks in the valley typically stay open all year.
Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable shoulder seasons, with fewer crowds and mild hiking temperatures. Winter is quiet and mostly mild, with very little snow at valley elevations, though the road to Hurricane Ridge sees regular snowfall from autumn through spring, is not always open, and requires chains in winter.
Booking and reservations
Sequim Bay State Park is on the Washington State Parks reservation system, which accepts bookings up to nine months in advance and is the recommended path for summer stays. Reservations run May 15 through September 15; outside that window, sites are first come, first served. A Discover Pass is required for day-use vehicle access to Washington state parks, though camping fees cover it for overnight guests.
Private parks near Bell Hill, including Gilgal Oasis RV Park, Sequim West RV Park, John Wayne's Waterfront Resort, and Rainbow's End RV Park, are booked directly with the property. Reserve well ahead for lavender-festival weekend in mid-July and for any summer weekend; last-minute mid-week availability is more common in spring and fall.
What to expect
Sequim Bay State Park accommodates RVs and combinations of 40 feet or less in length. The park has standard and full-utility sites, restrooms with showers, a dump station, and access to the Olympic Discovery Trail, a boat launch, and beach at low tide. U.S. Route 101 borders the park, and some campers note road noise at sites closest to the highway.
Private parks in the Sequim area generally provide full hookups, longer pull-throughs, Wi-Fi, and easier big-rig access. Cell coverage is reliable in the valley but drops quickly on Hurricane Ridge Road and along the west end of Highway 101.
Wildlife is active: expect elk in the valley, bald eagles, herons, and marine life along the bay. Bring layers even in summer, as marine fog and cool evenings are common despite the dry rain-shadow climate.

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Bell Hill, WA?

Great news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Bell Hill, WA. Washington State does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal RVs under 26,000 pounds, which covers virtually every motorhome and travel trailer on RVezy. You'll just need to be 25 or older and complete a quick ID confirmation through the RVezy platform. Visiting from abroad? Bring your home-country license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP), usually under $20 from your local auto club. Most first-time renters are surprised how simple the process is, you can be booked and packing in an afternoon.

Every RV rental in Bell Hill booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance. Protection plans help cover damage to the RV during your trip, and roadside help is just a phone call away whether you are parked near John Wayne Marina or heading up Hurricane Ridge Road. RVezy offers different protection tiers, and you choose the level that fits your trip during checkout, not the host. This setup gives first-time renters real peace of mind for a Sequim area RV trip without having to arrange separate coverage.

Booking an RV rental in Bell Hill is low-risk. RVezy, not the individual host, sets the cancellation policy, so the terms are consistent across every listing. There is a money-back grace period shortly after booking, and refund eligibility after that depends on how far out your trip start date is. RVezy also has provisions for unexpected events, which matters on the Olympic Peninsula where winter wind storms occasionally roll through. If your plans change, contact RVezy support and they will walk you through your options, so you can lock in that summer Dungeness Spit trip with confidence.

Absolutely, your pup is welcome on plenty of trips. A pet-friendly RV rental in Bell Hill is easy to find on RVezy: just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter and browse listings where the host has opted in. Sequim is famously dog-loving, and you'll find off-leash time at the Dungeness Off Leash Dog Park on Woodcock Road, plus leashed walks along the 5.5-mile Dungeness Spit (note: dogs are allowed on the upland trail, but not on the spit itself, which is a National Wildlife Refuge). Bring a tie-out, a towel for sandy paws, and confirm any pet cleaning fee with your host upfront so checkout is smooth.
fws.gov/refuge/dungeness/visit-us/rules-and-policiesCan the RV be delivered to my campsite near Bell Hill?
Yes, and it's the easiest way to start a stress-free trip. Many RVezy hosts offer RV delivery in Bell Hill and across the Sequim Dungeness Valley, meaning they'll tow or drive the rig to your campsite, level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before handing over the keys. Popular delivery destinations include Dungeness Recreation Area, Sequim Bay State Park, and Salt Creek Recreation Area. Just use the Delivery filter, message the host with your destination, and confirm the fee (often a flat rate plus mileage). For first-time renters nervous about driving a big rig, this is the move.
clallamcountywa.gov/1037/Dungeness-Recreation-AreaHow far can I drive, and do any RVs come with unlimited mileage?
You've got real range from Bell Hill. Each host sets their own mileage policy, and you'll see the daily allowance (commonly 100 to 150 free miles per day) right on the listing. Some hosts offer an RV rental with unlimited mileage, perfect for a longer Olympic Peninsula loop. From Bell Hill you're about 17 miles to Port Angeles, 35 miles to Hurricane Ridge, 60 miles to Lake Crescent, 100 miles to the Hoh Rain Forest, and 80 miles to Port Townsend via the Hood Canal Bridge. If you're planning a big loop, message hosts before booking and ask about a mileage package, many will discount extra miles upfront.
nps.gov/olym/planyourvisit/driving-distances-and-times.htmWhere are the best campgrounds near Bell Hill, WA?
Bell Hill is surrounded by excellent campgrounds for an RV trip. Top picks within about 30 minutes include Sequim Bay State Park (hookup sites just east of Sequim along Highway 101), Dungeness Recreation Area (county-run sites on a bluff above the Strait of Juan de Fuca), and Salt Creek Recreation Area west of Port Angeles, known for tidepools and Olympic views. For RV camping inside Olympic National Park, Heart O' the Hills near Port Angeles and Fairholme on Lake Crescent are great options, though they do not offer hookups. State park sites can be reserved through Washington State Parks up to nine months in advance, and summer weekends fill quickly, so booking early is recommended.
