Campgrounds and RV parks near Bryant, WA

Freshwater recreation is the main draw close to town. Walker Valley Forest, located just east of Big Lake, is a 3,200-acre off-road vehicle area with 36 miles of ORV trails, including single-track trails for motorcycles and mountain bikes, double-track trails for ATVs, and 6 miles of 4x4 trails. A Washington State Discover Pass is mandatory for all vehicles using the area. Lake Goodwin, near Stanwood, supports swimming, kayaking, and warmwater and trout fishing, and Wenberg County Park on the same lake adds a public boat launch and picnic grounds. Day trips from Bryant reach Camano Island State Park, the tulip fields of the Skagit Valley in April, Deception Pass State Park to the northwest, and hiking trailheads in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest along the Mountain Loop Highway east of Arlington and Granite Falls.

Summer, from late June through early September, is the driest and warmest window and the peak RV season in western Washington. Days are long, wildfire smoke can drift in during late summer, and burn bans are common on both state and DNR land. Full-hookup weekends at the private parks fill up months ahead during this stretch. Spring and fall are quieter and cooler, with reliable rainfall and green landscapes. Skagit Valley tulip season in April draws heavy weekend traffic through nearby Mount Vernon and can slow travel on State Route 536 and Interstate 5. Fall brings salmon runs on the Stillaguamish and Skagit rivers, plus fewer neighbors at most campgrounds. Winter is mild but wet along the lowlands, with occasional lowland snow and steadier snow in the Cascade foothills; some private parks reduce services and public forest roads can close after storms. Trails at Walker Valley are open year-round but may close on short notice due to fire season or inclement weather, so riders should check DNR alerts before towing in.

Expect a mix of rural roads, rain-fed forest, and quick freeway access. Interstate 5 is the main north-south spine; secondary highways like State Route 9 and State Route 530 connect the foothill communities and can be slow behind logging traffic. Cell coverage is generally solid along the I-5 corridor and weaker in the DNR forest areas east of town. Most private RV parks near Bryant offer full hookups, showers, laundry, and dump stations, and many stay open through the winter with reduced amenities. Sites near lakes and Puget Sound can be tight, so measure your rig before booking pull-throughs. First come, first served camping is still available for unreserved state park sites after 2:30 p.m. A Discover Pass is required for day use of state parks and DNR lands.
