Campgrounds and RV parks near Camas, WA

Camas sits on the north bank of the Columbia River in Clark County, Washington, just east of Vancouver and directly across the river from Troutdale, Oregon. The location puts RV travelers within a short drive of both the Portland metro area and the western entrance to the Columbia River Gorge, with the Cascade foothills rising to the north and east. Campground options split into two categories. Full-hookup RV parks cluster along the I-84 and I-205 corridors, including Sandy Riverfront RV Resort in Troutdale, Portland Fairview RV Park, and Vancouver Mall RV Park. These sites offer paved or concrete pads, 30 and 50 amp service, sewer, water, and Wi-Fi, and work well as a base for exploring the city or the gorge. For a more traditional camping experience, Battle Ground Lake State Park lies about 30 minutes north in the Cascade foothills, and Rock Creek Horse Camp sits deeper in the Yacolt Burn State Forest on Washington DNR land. Both trade full hookups for forested sites, trails, and quieter surroundings.

Battle Ground Lake State Park is managed by Washington State Parks and reserved through the state's central system online at parks.wa.gov or by phone at 888-CAMPOUT (888-226-7688). Reservations open up to nine months in advance, and summer weekends should be booked as early as possible. A Discover Pass is required for day-use parking but not when paying for an overnight site. Rock Creek Horse Camp is a Washington DNR site, and a Discover Pass must be displayed. Sites are first-come, first-served, with equestrian spots held for horse campers. Sandy Riverfront RV Resort, Portland Fairview RV Park, and Vancouver Mall RV Park each take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone, and summer stays typically require advance booking.
