Saltwater recreation dominates the area. Illahee State Park has a fishing pier, moorage floats, and beach access for shellfish harvesting during open seasons, along with trails through what is described as the last remaining stand of old-growth timber in Kitsap County, including one of the oldest Pacific yew trees in the country. Manchester State Park adds 3,400 feet of shoreline on Rich Passage, tide pools, and preserved military structures including the 1901 brick torpedo warehouse and remnants of Battery Mitchell. Boating, kayaking, and scuba diving are popular from both state parks. Land activities include volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, playgrounds, and short hiking loops. Seattle is reachable by walk-on ferry from Bremerton or Bainbridge Island. Poulsbo and the Suquamish Museum are both within a short drive of the Clearwater Casino Resort.

Summer, roughly late June through early September, is the dry season and the busiest time to camp near Enetai. Weekends at Illahee and Manchester State Parks fill quickly, and reservations should be made well in advance. Days are mild, evenings cool, and campfires may be restricted during regional burn bans, so check current fire rules before arrival. Spring and fall are shoulder seasons. Sites are easier to secure midweek, but steady rain returns by mid-October. March has the highest count of rainy days in a typical year, while November is usually the wettest month by total volume. Trails can be muddy, and mornings often start with marine fog. Winter camping is possible. Illahee State Park has year-round camping with sites reservable through the state system. Manchester State Park is open year-round, but campsites are reservable only from May 15 through September 15 and revert to first-come, first-served the rest of the year. Day-use reservations for Manchester's Torpedo Warehouse and picnic shelters run April 1 through October 31. Expect steady rain, short daylight, and limited amenities off-season.

State park campgrounds near Enetai are compact and forested. Illahee State Park has roughly two dozen sites, with most RV-usable sites suited to rigs between about 20 and 30 feet and one full-hookup site, so larger rigs should confirm dimensions when booking. Manchester State Park has around 50 sites split between standard and utility loops, with a stated maximum length of 60 feet on limited sites, though a few sites have tight approaches through mature trees. Amenities at both state parks include flush toilets, hot showers, drinking water, and a dump station. Cell coverage is generally usable, and Bremerton grocery and fuel stops are within a short drive. Road noise from surrounding neighborhoods can carry into some sites, particularly at Illahee. Bring layers, rain gear, and a leash for pets, which are allowed on-leash throughout the parks.
